2 Professional: Marci Pope is an Adapted Physical Specialist. Currently she is teaching coursework in adapted physical education at CSU, Chico in the kinesiology department, and also has a physical education and adapted physical education teaching credential and a M.A. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in adapted physical activity. Marci worked in the public schools for 10 years teaching adapted physical education and continues to enjoy playing with children and collaborating with adults for inclusive physical activity settings. Regional, state, national and international presentations have encompassed inclusive physical activities, consultation/collaboration, activity modification strategies and keeping fitness fun. This is Marci s 4 th year on SCAPE and she does not know why it took her so long to make the commitment. It is a wonderful opportunity to gather with others in the world of adapted physical education and she loves her APE family. In addition to teaching for Sylvan Union School District I have also taught adapted aquatics for 10 years; coordinated 8 adapted bicycle camps; and volunteered in an adapted water ski program for 8 years. I also help coordinate the Central Valley Consortium on Adapted Physical. I graduated from CSU, Chico in Yes, I was a re-entry student who spent a great deal of time working in the private sector before returning to school. While, at Chico I earned my BA in Kinesiology Suma Cum Laude with honors, as well as my teaching credentials. But more importantly I gained a great deal of practical knowledge and experience under the instruction and guidance of Rebecca Lytle, Marci Pope, and others. Personal: I am married with two stepdaughters and three grandchildren. In my spare time away from work I enjoy serving others at my church and online ministry, trail running, swimming, backpacking, kayaking, fishing, skiing, and just about anything that gets me outside and up into the mountains. She has a B.A. in Liberal Studies, Multiple subject-teaching credential from CSU Fresno, and Adapted Physical credential from CSU Chico. Theresa s Adapted PE program won the California School Board Association 2014 Golden Bell Award for her Community Field Days. She was also nominated for Educator of the year 2014 in Central Unified. Locally, Theresa is a volunteer in the Special Olympics organization, training students, and assisting with events. Another passion of hers, is coaching soccer, which she has spent the last 7 years doing for CYSA district 7. Theresa Bollier Danielle Gilley Personal: Theresa and her husband Steve live in Fresno, CA and enjoy raising their 4 kids; Makayla, Maddison, Jared, and Elaina. She loves outdoor activities, Zumba, biking, long walks with the dog, hiking, soccer, camping, and traveling. Shortly after receiving my credential, I began my career as an Adapted Physical Specialist for the Irvine Unified School District. This is my second year teaching APE and I m loving every second of it! For the past two years I have been the SCAPE Future Professional, and recently promoted to along with being the co-chair for the 44th NAPEC. Personal: I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, Jason, family, and friends. I love being active!! Working out, SUP (stand up paddle-boarding), and power shopping are my some of my favorite activities. I'm also a big sports fanatic! I love going to sporting events, especially to watch the Dodgers, Kings, and 49ers. Margaret has been a Conference Committee Chairperson for the 20 th, 25 th and 30 th National Conference on Physical Activity for the Exceptional Individual. She was Co- Program Director for the 40 th National Conference on Adapted Physical in Margaret Weimer and Budget Chair Personal: Margaret loves sailing and racing on her brother s sailboat. She is an avid reader. She has volunteered for the last 17 years at Mater Dei High School as a co-field coordinator for their Special Games Outreach. She is currently going back to Cal Poly Pomona to obtain her master s degree in Adapted Physical. Tina began her career as a general P.E. teacher at J.H. Hull Middle School in Torrance where she taught for one year. After teaching a year of general P.E. she realized that teaching Adapted Physical was what she wanted to do. Her first Adapted P.E. Specialist job was for Los Angels County Office of (LACOE) where she serviced one School District and five County classes for five years. She is currently working part time for Lawndale Elementary School District and part time for DirectEd Specialized Services (DESS) as their Adapted P.E. Specialist Lead supporting and supervising other Adapted P.E. specialist. Tina Henges Personal: Tina was born and raised in Torrance, California. She attended South Torrance High School where she met her husband, Mike. Outside of teaching Adapted P.E., Tina mostly enjoys spending time with family and friends. 7 Lindsay Cecil Administrative Representative Professional: Lindsay is an administrator for the Adapted Physical Program for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). She began her career as an Adapted Physical Teacher for LAUSD and taught for 8 years as an itinerant teacher. She received her BA from Whittier College in Physical and Recreation and received her General Physical and Adapted Physical Credential from CSU, Long Beach. She received her MA from CSU, Long Beach in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Pedagogy. In 2010, Lindsay became a National Board Certified Teacher. In 2013, she received her Tier I Administrative Credential and is currently completing her Tier II program. She is excited to be part of the SCAPE Council and looks forward to working with the exceptional group of members. Personal: Lindsay was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA.
