Formulates and recommends to the Chancellor new or revised policies and procedures for the operation of the college requiring approval by the Board of Trustees. Work with legally constituted campus organizations. Submit to the Chancellor for study, and recommends, the annual budget for the College. Using the existing college and district program review process, reviews the educational programs of the college on a regular basis and recommends modifications which will improve the scope and quality of the college offerings and related services. Work closely with administrators and faculty in developing, modifying and enhancing college curriculum that improves student success; review and evaluate curricular recommendations and encourage expansion or contraction of the instructional program to meet the needs of students in the community, including new, transfer, re-entry and high school advanced placement students. Review reports related to the college's financial resources; assure that human and financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively; direct the timely and accurate preparation of enrollment and revenue projections and consolidation of budgetary reports to facilitate attainment of short-and longrange plans. After appropriate consultation, make necessary appointments to the various college committees and councils. Maintain awareness of legislative matters affecting the college and district. Serve, as necessary, on all negotiation committees with academic and classified staff. Promotes a positive environment for staff and student diversity and ensures the proper use of resources. Utilize regular and appropriate means to communicate to staff and students those matters under consideration and decisions made which will affect the college. Assist faculty and others, where appropriate, in the development of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the determination of their effectiveness in helping students achieve their desired learning outcomes. In addition, provide leadership for the development of SLOs within their program areas of responsibility. Responsible for providing leadership in the implementation of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant for the college and will serve as an advocate for the region. Complete other duties as assigned by the Chancellor.

Responsible for multiple district functions and for assessing, planning, organizing, and evaluating the district s resources, programs, and services of the district to meet the educational needs of students and communities served in accordance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations. Provide leadership and coordination for the strategic planning efforts as it relates to the District Technology Plan and Distant Education Plan. Provide leadership and fiscal oversight to several state, federal, and private sector grants and initiatives, such as Perkins IV, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Career Technical (SB70) Education, and Department Of Labor s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training California Community College Committed to Change (C6). Responsible for fiscal oversight and program compliance of projects in excess of $10 Million annually. Serve as a resource to the district s colleges for educational planning, student success, professional development, continuous improvement, and grant development processes. Provide overall leadership to the district s Career Technical, Workforce Development and Contract Education programs. Provide supervision to a team of district-level administrators in such areas as Information Technology, Distance Education, Grants, Workforce Development, Child Development and Westside Institute of Technology to ensure implementation of district-wide goals, statutes, regulations, and policies. Assist the colleges efforts of to assure proper implementation, review and evaluation of educational programs (Program Review). Serve as the district liaison with workforce investment boards, K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and state and local agencies, including the California Community Colleges Chancellor s Office. Coordinate the completion of district reports for federal, state, and local agencies relative to Educational Services and Workforce Development. Support technology in the classroom and understand the need to review, upgrade and maintain equipment and technological systems for teaching, learning and administrative support. Work with local business community, schools, and college representatives to create career educational partnerships. Provide overall leadership in the collection of data and preparation of state and federal student and staff occupational education reports (Perkins funds). Serve as the district liaison to the Business Community.
