2 California State University System Celebrated our 54th anniversary as a system. 1 of every 10 members of California s workforce is a CSU alumni. For every $1 California invests in the CSU, the CSU returns $5.43. Most diverse college student population in US. Emphasis on skills/experiences employers value. Strong regional and community engagement Prepare students to enter job market directly with BA/BS degree Provide graduate education at the MA/MS level

4 Academics 384 degree programs both bachelors and masters level Most popular degrees in the CSU include business, psychology, education, communication, fine arts, and health professions In addition, every CSU campus has several feature programs that are considered notable (e.g. CSU Monterey Bay s Marine Science Program)
5 Costs Even with recent tuition increases, the CSU maintains some of the lowest student fees in the nation among four-year universities. The undergraduate tuition for California resident students is approx.$6,500 per academic year. All CSU s offer on-campus housing to varying degrees. The average cost of housing/meals is $11,929. The averaged total cost of education for a CSU student living on campus is $22,000 per academic year. More than half of CSU students receive financial aid.
6 CSU campuses use three factors to determine admissions: 1) completion of high school college preparatory coursework 2) SAT or ACT test scores 3) high school academic GPA 4) CSU eligibility index Each campus has it s own admissions process and criteria. Many campuses will give admission priority to local applicants. Some campuses are impacted for freshman only. Freshman Admissions Other campuses are impacted by specific majors. This means they will establish separate admission requirements
