He began his career working in university housing at UGA, San Francisco State University, CSU Monterey Bay and CSU San Marcos. Almost nine years ago, he moved to the community college system and worked for Long Beach City College (LBCC) as a Manager of Student Life. After leaving LBCC, he worked at San Diego Mesa College as Interim Dean of Student Affairs and Interim Vice President of Student Services. He currently serves as the Vice President of Student Services at San Bernardino Valley College. Lisa has taught a broad spectrum of English courses, but she specializes in advanced academic composition. Advanced composition courses teach students to write for college, and include the following skills: documentation, advanced grammar concepts, writing in the rhetorical modes, argument structures, organization, logic, and critical thinking. In addition to teaching on-campus courses, Lisa has taught online since 2001 usually two out of five sections that she teaches each semester are online courses. These experiences were invaluable as worked with at-risk students who were most in need of academic and personal support. In 2005, I was hired at Mt. San Antonio College as a counselor in the general Counseling department.
