3 TEXAS NIGHT HISTORY In 2013 the first inaugural TX NIGHT was conducted with tremendous success at the ASIS International 59 th Seminar & Exhibits in Chicago, IL. Borne out of a desire to muster all TX ASIS members at the annual Seminar & Exhibits the event was launched for the purpose of networking, socializing and recognition. Because ASIS International Region 3C encompasses ONLY the State of TEXAS, we are challenged geographically with 6 Chapters across our whole other country and over 2,000 members! That alone was reason enough to get everyone together in one-place, and the obvious venue was the annual ASIS International Seminar & Exhibits. Wherever we go, TEXAS goes with us! In 2014 TX NIGHT was held at the 60 th ASIS International Seminar in Atlanta, GA at Max s Grill. It grew to accommodate 10X the attendance from the Chicago conference! It was a great event, complete with live music and super networking. Sponsors were allowed to speak to the crowd and be recognized for their contribution. Additionally, Sponsors had their own brochures and giveaways that were put in the hands of each attendee. It was a tremendous success! We also raised over $4,000 for the ASIS Foundation as well with our limited edition TX NIGHT/ASIS FOUNDATION Challenge Coin, a tradition we ve adopted each year. And finally, don t forget that we will give away to each attendee our custom 2015 TX NIGHT pin and ASIS Regional PIN also an annual tradition. Region 3C (State of TX) Regional Vice President Charles Andrews, CPP founded this event in 2012 and acts as its coordinator and promoter still today. Companies are handselected by invitation for sponsorship. Additionally, sponsors will be vertically exclusive when possible, unique to their industry vertical, i.e.- only one sponsor from a Uniformed Security Company, Security Integration Company, Executive Protection Firm, etc. Past sponsors have been Sam Houston State University, University of Houston-Downtown, G4S, AS Solution, PPM 2000, NSS Labs and many more. Region 3C supports the ASIS Foundation mission with an annual donation from each Chapter annually. For the first time in TX NIGHT history, a financial donation will be made by TX NIGHT to support The ASIS Foundation. This means you are also supporting the ASIS FOUNDATION! Additionally, various TX ASIS members in attendance will pass their TX Cowboy (or, Cowgirl) 10-gallon hats soliciting from attendee s further donation to the ASIS Foundation. A special prize will be awarded that night to biggest financial donor! We hope to make circulating the ASIS FOUNDATION TX HAT an annual and fun tradition going forward. Did I mention that each time a donation is made, the official TX NIGHT cowbell will be rung in the donators honor!
