These applications can be filled out and submitted at Scholarship Opportunities High Five Scholarship: The High Five Scholarships website is now live with the largest collection of scholarships ever assembled. It is available to everyone free of charge. In addition to scholarships we will soon have free ACT and SAT practice tests and Study Guides. Please send your students to for further information. Sigourney Tractor & Implement John Deere Scholarship: Sigourney Tractor & Implement is partnering with John Deere s Corporate Citizenship Center of Excellence to sponsor three $ John Deere Scholarships through the National FFA Foundation. One scholarship will be awarded in each of our dealerships trade areas. 2 ACACIA Leadership Scholarship: Iowa State University announced its ACACIA scholarship for outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated their ability to excel in the fields of academics, extracurricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an Iowa school who will be attending Iowa State University. Please see school website for application. Deadline: April 1, 2013 Wendy s High School Heisman: This scholarship recognizes outstanding male and female high school athletes who excel in academics, athletics, and leadership. Any senior who have at least a B grade average and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport can apply online. Visit on how to apply. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 3: The American Legion Auxiliary is offering a scholarship for students who are a son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter of a veteran of WWI, WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Granada/Lebanon, Panama, or Persian Gulf Conflicts. To submit applications please see the school website. Deadline: April 20, 2013 Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship: MidWest One Bank in Iowa City administers the Pearl Hull Falk Trust that provides funds for this scholarship each year. Between 75 and 85 scholarships in the amount of $ are available each year. The money is paid directly to the recipients in installments of $ at the beginning of each semester. A full-time student at the University of Iowa Deadline: May 3, 2013 Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program: Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 6th year. We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. 3 AES Engineer Scholarship: The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible students need to answer one of the essay questions on the AES website at Deadline: October 5, 2013 Patritto Orthodontics Scholarship: Patritto Orthodontics offers ten (10) $ scholarships each year to graduating seniors with plans to further their education. You must be a student in grade 12 for the current school year and have finished orthodontic treatment with Dr. Patritto. Jeremy Allen Memorial Scholarship: Jeremy was a beloved friend, son, uncle, and brother. He stood 6 4 and was a talented baseball player with aspirations to play professionally. He was looking forward to getting his driver s license on his 16 th birthday, less than three weeks away. Jeremy s story teaches us the importance of preventing school violence by telling a teacher or counselor if you know of any impending fight, and to be a good role model for other students by promoting non-violent ways to solve conflicts, even if you are acting in the defense of others. His story is a reminder that a decision you make in one second may have a lifetime impact on you, family, and friends. The Jeremy Allen Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Jeremy Allen, an OHS student and athlete who was killed July 25, 1994, as the result of a fight outside of OHS. The scholarship will award one male student $1,000 for embodying the principles of non-violence and sportsmanship. Qualifications: Male member of OHS baseball or football team, Legion league baseball, or Senior Babe Ruth baseball. Students will need to complete a 1-page essay, submit two recommendation letters, and have no history of violence. Application: available in the guidance office or online at the Ottumwa Schools website This scholarship may be applied to any post secondary program, including trade school, apprenticeship, certificate training program, or college tuition. Students who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply, regardless of GPA or class rank. Deadline: March 30, 2013

Deadline: May 27, 2013 The 2013 Robert D. Blue Scholarship: This scholarship application is now available online at Students whom wish to apply for the scholarship are required to complete the application online at The Robert D. Blue scholarship is made possible by the Iowa Centennial Memorial Foundation. Any Iowa student who plans to attend an Iowa college or university is eligible for this award. Applicants are expected to demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display moral force of character. Deadline: May 10, 2013 Iowa PGA Scholarship: The Iowa PGA Section of America offers an annual scholarship opportunity in memory of one of our members, Charlie Burkhart. This scholarship is open to any graduating senior of an Iowa high school within the set boundaries. Please see the school website for a downloadable application. Deadline: June 14, 2013 Tom Arnold Scholarship: The IHCC Tom Arnold Scholarship is available for the school year. The scholarship awards (2) students tuition, fees, required books, and required supply costs for one year (three terms). In addition, if the winners are students residing in the dormitories, an average of room and board costs will be included as part of the scholarship award! An Indian Hills faculty committee will screen the initial entries and Tom Arnold will choose the final selections himself. 5 Wapello County Sheriff Reserve/Lisa Caldwell Memorial Scholarship: The Wapello County Sheriff s Reserve will be awarding 2-$ scholarships for students pursuing a career in criminal justice or related field of study. One recipient will received the Wapello County Sheriff Reserve scholarship and an additional recipient will receive the Lisa Caldwell Memorial Scholarship. Ottumwa Education Association Scholarship Application: The O.E.A. proudly announces the Ottumwa Education Association Scholarship. Two awards in the amount of $ each will be granted. Applicants must be a high school senior who is seeking a degree in education for the pursuit of a teaching career. For an application, please visit the OHS school website. Deadline: April 12, 2013 J. Ralph and Gladys Meier Scholarship Trust: This trust was created exclusively for educational purposes. It allows students who have graduated or will graduate from high schools in Wapello, Keokuk, and Mahaska counties and who are scholastically ranked in the upper one half of their graduation class to apply for the scholarship. You will find a copy of the application form and any additional information on the Ottumwa Community Schools website. Deadline: March 20, 2013 Clara Liddell Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is for graduating seniors, who has at least one parent that is a member of the Ottumwa Education Association for two or more years. The applicant must be seeking a degree at a four-year college or university pursuing a career that will positively influence youth or adolescents. Students must have maintained a 2.5 GPA throughout high school. Please see the school website for an application. Deadline: April 15, 2013 The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa: The LDA of Iowa will award three scholarships to high school seniors who plan to enroll in postsecondary education (college or vocational) in the fall of The scholarships are to assist students with learning disabilities in pursuing a post-secondary education at an accredited institution. 6 Richland Pink Party for a Cure: The Richland Pink Party for a Cure is a 501-c-3 non-profit corporation formed solely for charitable purposes to raise money and provide financial assistance to low income and special needs breast cancer patients in Southeast Iowa. For an application, please see the school website Deadline: April 30, 2013 Seth Anderson Memorial Scholarship: Qualifications: Must be a high school senior. Must be in good standing with the community. Entrants must complete the application in full. An essay written by you must accompany all applications. The essay must describe how you plan to further your education and/or career path. Stop by the guidance office for an application or for a downloadable version please see the Ottumwa School website. Deadline: April 15, 2013 Kit Williamson Memorial Scholarship: The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 490 in Des Moines, established a scholarship fund to assist the children/grandchildren of Vietnam era veterans with the costs associated with undergraduate studies at an accredited educational and technical institution. Deadline: April 30, 2013 Kiwanis Scholarship: Ottumwa Kiwanis Club awards three $ scholarships to deserving applicants that reside in Wapello County. Deadline: March 22, 2013 Darryl Jahn Memorial Scholarship: The Alumni of Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran fraternity will be awarding three $ scholarships to Lutheran gentlemen entering Iowa State University in the fall of Applicants will be evaluated on their scholastic achievement and active participation in their communities and churches. Deadline for 1 st Scholarship: February 22, 2013 Deadline for 2 nd -3 rd Scholarship: April 19, 2013 After May 31, 2013, applicants will only be eligible of the 3 rd scholarship.
