SPONSOR QUALIFICATION(S)/INFORMATION AMOUNT DEADLINE American Society of Civil Engineers Applicants should be seniors who intend to pursue a career in Civil Engineering. Students who apply must have a 3.0 GPA and submit two letters of recommendation with an official transcript. Applications are available at $1,000 3/25/16 Hispanic Business Council Foundation of NJ Applicants must be of Hispanic heritage and have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The goal of the scholarship is to advance the educational aspirations of Hispanic students so that they may become professionals, leaders, and valued citizens of the community. Students are given the challenge to create a business idea and submit it to a panel of judges comprised of University professors and experts in business and entrepreneurship. The scholarship is a renewable award totaling $40,000 over four years at Fairleigh Dickinson University. $40,000 at FDU 3/28/16 Morris County Retirees Association Applicants must possess a commitment to pursue a BA or BS degree in education at a four year college and must rank in the upper half of their high school senior class; complete application includes cover letter and three letters of recommendation. Applications are available in Guidance. $ $4000 3/31/16 William Santora for Vocational, Technical, and Creative Arts MCCEA Philanthropic Fund MCCEA Visions for the Future Huntington College Sweepstakes Applicants must be a graduating senior planning a career in vocational, technical, or creative arts with an intent to teach or serve. At least a 2.3 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required. Applications are available at mccea.com (same application as MCCEA Philanthropic Fund ). Applicants must be a graduating senior enrolling in a four-year college in the fall as an education major. At least a 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required. 2 NCMA Picatinny Chapter These scholarships are provided to seniors who interested in pursuing a career in business or law. Applications are available in Guidance. $500 3/31/16 Janice M. Scott Applicants must be attending a four-year college upon completion of high school and have demonstrated leadership through community service or other extra-curricular activities. The combined parental income cannot exceed $60,000. Letters of recommendation, a financial document, high school senior picture, and a 500-1,000 word essay are requirements. Those who apply should be graduating high school seniors from enrolling full-time in an accredited university or college within the United States. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, actively participate in at least one extra-curricular activity, and must have worked an average of 30 hours per week during the summer since the age of 16. $10,000 4/1/16 National Association of Water Companies This scholarship is available to a high school senior who will be attending a college and is interested in the water utility industry or a related field. Related fields include natural resource management, environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering, communication, computer science, business administration, human resources, consumer affairs, law, accounting, finance, etc. Students who apply must have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Aug Community College Retirees' Isabelle Hickman 4- Year College This award is renewable to a student who has been accepted to a community/county college. 3 NJUA Excellence in Diversity To qualify for this scholarship, you must be one of the following minority groups: Hispanic or Latino, Black or African-American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Asian, American Indian, or Native Alaskan. Financial need and overall academic excellence must be demonstrated. Children of employees of any NJUA members are excluded from applying. See Mr. Shore for an application. $2,500 4/11/16 Morris County, NJ American Legion Auxiliary: Hazel Sacco Applicants should be the child/grandchild/great-grandchild/sibling of a Veteran, not necessarily an American Legion member, who served in the US Armed Forces (during dates specified on application) and was honorably discharged. This award is granted to two students in who demonstrate exemplary music and plan to pursue a music major in college. To apply, visit $2,500 4/15/16 $500 4/15/16 Jewish War Veterans of the USA: 2014 XX Olympiad Award This scholarship is presented to an outstanding high school Scholar- Athlete; it is a NON-SECTARIAN award (the sole criterion is that the applicant be a high school senior). 4 Morristown Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta This scholarship is for African-American students only. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have been accepted to a two or four year college or university. She will be selected on the basis of her application and her vocal music talent. Completed application includes a CD (not a DVD) or audio-tape with at least two vocal performances. N/A 4/30/16 $500 5/1/16 MTANJ Automotive Training Center These scholarships are open to any student that is interested in pursuing a career in the marine or boating industry and meets the outlined criteria. This is a half-scholarship for the Marine Service Technology Program at the Automotive Training Center in Pennsylvania. The scholarship award can be applied towards any marine trades program. 5 Mid New Jersey Youth Soccer Liesel Krehan Award Applicants must be attending any type of formal post-high school education. Candidates must have been associated with a Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association affiliates club/team as an athlete, volunteer trainer, or referee during his/her high school years; the affiliated club's board of directors must verify that the candidate has this association.
