1 Latest Scholarships by Due Date MARK MORRIS HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships are available to Mark Morris graduating seniors. Awards are based on school activities, leadership, academics, future goals, and financial need. Applications are available in the Career Center. Due Date: 4/17/2015 FISH MINISTRIES CHRISTIAN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship awards $500 to a Mark Morris student based on leadership, involvement in athletics, extracurricular activities, community service, and Christian activities. Applications are in the Career Center. Due Date: 4/18/2015 MARK MORRIS BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Two $500 scholarships. Two letters of recommendation and a statement addressing school activities, community activities, honors and awards, future plans, and why you would be a good recipient of this scholarship. Applications available in the Career Center. Due Date: 4/24/2015 ROBERT V. LARSON SCHOLARSHIP Two $1000 scholarships offered, one for a girl and one for a boy. To be eligible: Provide transcript, 3.0 GPA or higher, community service, letter of recommendation from a local community member (an Eagle member if you know one), two letters of recommendation from educators, and write a 2 paragraph personal essay explaining future plans and goals, financial needs and personal achievements.. Applications available in the Career Center. ROBERT AND MARGARET PULLIAM SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship was established to encourage and reward academic excellence and community service. Recipients must also continue their education at an accredited college, university, career or technical school during the following academic year. Number of Awards - 6 Total Amount Awarded - $10,000. SHIELDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This is a $700 scholarship, in memory of Andrew Shields who was killed in action in Afghanistan in Available to graduating high school seniors who have been enrolled in any accredited Fire Cadet program in southwest Washington. Minimum GPA: 3.0 Apply online at FRANCES TRIBE MEMORIAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship recipients must be accepted into the Nursing Program at Clark College. This scholarship may be awarded for each of the two years of the nursing program, and is based on satisfactory academic progress and successful achievement of course requirements. Apply online at HOKULANI WASHINGTON FUND SCHOLARSHIP Estelle Kelley established this scholarship fund to support the ability of others with less means to experience the life gift of education.. Applicants must be residents of Washington State, with preference given to residents of Clark, Cowlitz and Skamania counties; attend an accredited private four-year college or university anywhere on the mainland United States with a student population of 2,000 4,000 students; and have a cumulative GPA of Preference will be given to students who are the first member in their family to attend an accredited college or university. MAXWELL FOUNDATION Believing in the importance of acknowledging the fine accomplishments of highachieving students, the Maxwell Foundation is offering financial aid of up to $5,000 per year for freshmen starting a four-year college program at an accredited private college or university during the academic year. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years for a total of up to $20,000. APPLY ONLINE AT JACKIE SEIDL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded to a Mark Morris student who is attending a four year university, 2.5 GPA, a love for people, interest in athletics, and a desire to work with special needs students. 3 LONGVIEW EARLY EDITION ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP The Rotary Club offers one $1,000 scholarship. Applicants will be judged on seriousness of purpose; honesty, moral character, and personality; scholastic aptitude; service to school and community; and citizenship. Applications are in the Career Center. HILANDER DENTAL SCHOLARSHIP Hilander Dental offers two $500 and one $1000 scholarship. Student must be a graduating senior planning to pursue a dental related career or any senior who is a Hilander Dental patient. Applications are in the Career Center or can be downloaded from PIONEER LIONS CLUB DON PECK MEMORIAL & FRANK BROWN VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS The $2000 Don Peck Scholarship is awarded in-house at MMHS and the $2000 Frank Brown Vocational Scholarship is awarded by the Pioneer Lions Club. Community service is emphasized and financial need considered. Applications are in the Career Center. SOUTHERN WASHINGTON MINERALOGICAL SOCIETY The Southern Washington Mineralogical Society encourages students, through its scholarship program, to pursue a career in the earth sciences. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or current college students studying geology, earth science, environmental science, forestry, archaeology, agronomy, hydrology, engineering, physics, chemistry or science education. BEROL-SHINDELL SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship was established to provide tuition scholarships to Jewish students in financial need who are currently attending or entering the University of Washington. Both academic achievement and community service will be considered; however, financial need is the primary consideration in selecting recipients. Applications are in the Career Center.

4 PACIFIC NORTHWEST TOOL COLLECTORS (PNTC) SCHOLARSHIP PNTC offers a minimum of two $1500 scholarship to applicants wishing to continue their education beyond high school. The intent is to award scholarships to students pursuing education and training programs that lead to careers that make use of traditional tools. Examples of careers that use traditional tools include: Automotive Mechanic, Boat builder, Cabinet Maker, Machinists, Pattern Maker, Model Maker, Welding etc. Applications available in the Career Center or online at NORDSTORM SCHOLARSHIP (juniors) Scholarship of $10,000 awarded over four years at a four-year college/university. Based on academic achievement, awards/honors, leadership, school activities, community/volunteer activities, financial and employment history. Must have a 2.7 GPA or higher. APPLY ONLINE AT: LONGVIEW SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS SCHOLARSHIP This cash award is open to students involved in Band, DECA, Theater, Industrial & Fine Arts, Music, Home & Family Life and Community Service. Due Date: 5/3/2015 PAT SAWYER MEMORIAL GRANT-IN-AID (CHI CHAPTER OF DELTA KAPPA GAMMA) Chi Chaper will award a $500 Grant to a Cowlitz Co female planning to major in education, based on financial need, academic performance, school and community activities, and service. Due Date: 5/8/2015 LONGVIEW NOON ROTARY BILL DAVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This is a $1500 scholarship awarded to a student who has taken business courses in high school. 5 LONGVIEW NOON ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP The Rotary Club will award one scholarship to a Mark Morris senior who has demonstrated good citizenship and desire to complete a college or vocational education. DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP (juniors and seniors) This $1,000 scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution. Applicants will write an essay, "Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel they are developed in an individual." Go to to learn how to apply. Due Date: 5/25/2015 POINTE PEST CONTROL SCHOLARSHIP This $750 scholarship is judged primarily on need basis, but does not exclude achievement standards. Minimum GPA: 3.0. Apply online at Due Date: 5/31/2015 AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND Minimum requirements include U.S. citizenship; registration in a federal or state recognized tribe, or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled tribal member (Alaska Natives may use Native Corporation membership); a minimum GPA of 2.0. Apply online at CollegeFund.org Due Date: 5/31/2015 SAMSUNG AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP (juniors) Applicants must be high school juniors who attend either American Legion Auxiliary Girls State or American Legion Boys State, and must be direct descendants (i.e., child, grandchild, great-grandchild, or legally adopted child) of a U.S. wartime veteran who served on active duty during one or more of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion. Scholarship winners are selected based on academic record, involvement in school and community activities, community service, and financial need. Application information available at Due Date: 6/15/2015 CAREERS THAT WORK!: NORTHWEST CAREER COLLEGES FEDERATION The Careers That Work! scholarship program provides tuition assistance for high school graduates pursuing education at participating private career colleges. The scholarship program makes available five $1000 tuition scholarships to all public and private high schools in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington.
