McGraw Greater Dubuque College Scholarship Competition hill College scholarship competition for students attending public, private or parochial schools in the Greater Dubuque area (including Jo Daviess County in Illinois, Grant County in Wisconsin, and Dubuque County in Iowa) who plan to continue their education in a four year college degree program. Community Service Scholarship (Alliant Energy) Scholarship to recognize outstanding community leadership in young people and help students reach their academic goals. Award selection is based on participation in a leadership role in community service activities and volunteer work; academic grade point average; standardized test scores; and the content of a 300 word essay submission. Education to Employment Grant Program Dubuque Area Labor Management Council Program designed to help people who will be entering the workforce, as well as underemployed/unemployed individuals who want to prepare for highly skilled work. If you are dependable, know how to get a job done and want to work in the tri state area, this may be the program for you! Dupaco Scholarship Allan J. Carew Loras College Scholarship Fund Provides financial aid to students primarily from Dubuque County, who have demonstrated financial need and are involved in extracurricular activities. Catherine Dunn Scholarship Fund Provides financial assistance to minority students, with an emphasis on those of Hispanic descent, who demonstrate academic ability, good moral character, and financial need. Clarence Griep Scholarship Fund Provides financial assistance to one graduating senior from each Dubuque County high school in memory of former University of Dubuque professor Clarence Griep. Preference given first on the basis of academic achievement, second on the basis of community involvment, and third on the basis of need.

2 Clayton Ridge Dollars for Scholars Garnavillo Dollars for Scholars Grant Vogt Flight Scholarship Fund Provides financial support for aviation students' flight time while enrolled in the University of Dubuque's Flight Program. Guttenberg Dollars for Scholars Junior High Rodeo Fund Provides college scholarships to youth involved with the Iowa chapter of the Junior High School Rodeo Association. Recipients of the scholarship must join the program while in Junior High and actively participate through the completion of High School. Lauren Schmidt Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Provides post secondary scholarships for Hempstead High School students pursuing a degree in nursing from a higher education institution in Iowa. Leo McCarthy Scholarship Fund for Loras College Provides financial assistance enabling students to pursue their education at Loras College. Robert Cronin Loras College Scholarship Fund Provides financial assistance enabling students to pursue their education at Loras College. Rotary Club of Dubuque High School Scholarships Program Awards scholarships to deserving High School Seniors who are planning to pursue higher education at an acredited College or University. Scholarships are available at all high schools in Dubuque and East Dubuque. Prudential Spirit of Community Awards The United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. Over the past 13 years, the program has honored more than 80,000 young volunteers at the local, state, and national level. The Iowa Newspaper Foundation The Iowa Newspaper Foundation offers scholarships for Iowa college students preparing for a career in the newspaper industry. High school seniors and students currently enrolled at a college or university are encouraged to apply. U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship In 2009 the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation will award 54 $1000 scholarship awards to students pursuing the completion of a two or four year degree. Six district winners will be selected in each of the nine Iowa Farm Bureau Federation districts for Fall 2009 tuition awards. Ruth B. Sayre Scholarship Scholarships for the purpose of fostering educational development of women. Scholarship awards of $500 are paid to the educational institution where is student recipient is attending. Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship iowa.org/scholarship.html Scholarships designed to assist graduating seniors in pursuing a post secondary education in any state at an accredited institution which provides a two or four

4 year college program. The scholarships may be used for any bona fide school related expense such as tuition, fees, and books. Auxiliary members generously contribute to supporting a variety of scholarship opportunities for relatives of honorably discharged veterans and deserving youth. 4H Scholarships Hy Vee Foundation Scholarships vee.com/careers/scholarships.asp Hy Vee scholarships include $1,000 awarded to 40 high school seniors and $1,000 awarded to 40 college students for a total of $80,000 awarded in scholarship monies. To be eligible to apply for a Hy Vee Foundation Scholarship, you may be pursuing any course of study but it must lead to a four year college degree. Dubuque Kohl s Kids Who Care Scholarship Nominees must be legal U.S. residents of a state in which a Kohl's store is located. Nominees must be between the ages of 6 and 18 and not yet a high school graduate as of March 15, Each nominee must be nominated by someone age 21 years or older. Parents may nominate their own children. Mercy Medical Nursing Scholarship Dubuque and Dyersville Scholarships for graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in nursing. Conservation of Iowa Scholarship Scholarships for Iowa high school seniors to be used for their first year of education on the college level while pursuing programs of study in any field of agriculture or natural resources. Fidelity Bank and Trust Scholarships of $ each awarded to seven area High School Seniors. Homebuilders Association of Iowa Scholarship Scholarship funds for students pursuing a career in the home building industry and related trades.

5 Dysersville Federated Womens Club Scholarship Dorothy Morris Scholarship for a female undergraduate student of at least junior standing who has a minimum 3.0 GPA. The Joyce Guyon Scholarship is awarded to a non traditional female undergraduate student of at least junior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA. ASHRAE Mississippi Valley Chapter Annual Scholarship A $1000 one time scholarship, given annually to a qualified student in the Mississippi Valley Chapter assigned area, generally bounded by Bettendorf, Davenport, Burlington, De Witt, and Dubuque, Iowa; Rock Island, Moline, Sterling, Kewanee, Galesburg, and Monmouth, Illinois. Iowa Engineering Society Scholarship IES Chapters may offer a scholarship to high school seniors wishing to pursue an engineering degree and career, but the recipient must attend high school in one of the Iowa counties within that Chapter's boundaries. Iowa Elks Association Vocational Grant Vocational Grants of $ each to individuals pursuing a vocational (2 year or less) training/education program. Open to current high school seniors or any nontraditional student pursuing such a program. Finley Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship Scholarships for high school seniors with plans to pursue a nursing career, currently enrolled in a nursing program, or a Finley employee seeking a nursing career. Students must attend an accredited nursing school and pursue an AND, BSN, MSN, or nurse practitioner degree. Edith Kritz Scholarship Scholarships ranging in amounts of $250 to $1000. Students must be accepted into an accredited nursing program and pursue an ADN, BSN, or MSN degree.
