4 Fundraising Tips Make a list of potential donors, including everyone you know. Ask for donations in a personal letter or send an through your My Relay dashboard on relayforlife.org Get started by making a donation yourself and ask others to match it. Double your money by asking if your employer offers matching gift program. Honor someone. Encourage a cancer survivor to join your team and walk in their honor. A real-life story makes your fundraising personal. Talk it up at the next meeting you ll be attending. Ask for a few minutes on the agenda and explain why you are participating in the event. If you are dedicating your efforts to a cancer survivor, share their story with the group and invite them to support the cause. Fundraise online and with social media by sending s or making social post to ask for a donation. Let them know if you are walking in honor of someone and explain why the cause is important to you. Link your personal fundraising web page and share regular updates on your progress. Fundraise as a team to maximize your impact and have fun in the process. Choose a fundraising activity that people would typically spend money on and ask for donations. Fundraise at the event not only to add to the fun atmosphere of your event, but to keep your fundraising efforts going throughout the day and night. On-site fundraisers like face painting, lap beads, and photo booths are a blast and can significantly increase your team total. Fundraising Relay For Life App our new app is called the American Cancer Society Fundraising app, and is best found by searching "American Cancer Society Fundraising" in the itunes app store. How to raise $200 in 10 days!! Day Total 1. Put in your own $20 $ Ask your spouse or roommate for $20 $ Ask your co-worker for $20 $ Ask a friend for $20 $ Ask a relative for $20 $ Ask a neighbor for $20 $ Ask 2 people from church for $10 $ Ask another friend for $20 $ Ask another neighbor for $20 $ Ask 2 members of your club for $10 $200

5 Team Fundraising Ideas Scratch Off Cards Get with your local staff partner to get scratch off cards. As a participant you can use the cards to help when you make an ask- they scratch a circle on the card and have to donate the amount that appears. Water Bottle Fundraiser Fill a water bottle up with Dimes and you will get $100 in a 20oz bottle. Suns and Moons (or Feet) Local teams or businesses can sell suns and moons for a donation of $1 and then display them in their place of business, a school or on team campsite. The Old Standbys Garage/Yard sales, bake sales, car washes so many people do them because they work! Raffles Raffles are another old standby that works. Please be sure to follow State of Texas Raffle laws. You staff partner can guide you through this process. 30 x 30 x 30 Campaign Try to get 30 people to donate $30 each on the 30 th of the month. That s $900 in one day! This can be done individually or as a team --- if you have 15 members on your team, ask each member to ask 2 people for $30. Perhaps the next month, you can do 20 x 20 x 20. Imagine the possibilities if all your team members participated in this campaign. Seasonal Ideas Wrap presents at the Holidays for donations. In November ask smokers to donate what they would spend on cigarettes as part of GASO. Team up with your local theater department to do a haunted house for Halloween. At Valentines sell candy grams, they can pay extra for delivery.
