2 s Top Golf Tourney brings churches and organizations together to increase awareness and support for the ministries of. During the event, teams will gather at Top Golf and play two hours of golf games followed by an awards ceremony and presentation to learn more about the compassionate service offers for the difficult issues surrounding unexpected pregnancies. Churches have teams led by a Team Captain. Teams consist of 6 representative golfers. Team Captains coordinate fundraising and awareness-raising efforts among the team. Teams raise money before the day of the event through pledges in an effort to support as well as bring home the award for Most Funds Raised by a Team. On the day of the Tourney, golfers play 2 hours of games at Top Golf. An awards ceremony and lunch will then close out this fun-filled morning. Form a team! In order to be eligible for the event, each team must have: A Team Captain: A leader who is enthusiastic, communicative, and encouraging. Representative Golfers: 6 leaders willing to represent your congregation or organization and play 2 hours of Top Golf on October 25, A Commitment to Raise $3000: The minimum amount for teams to raise is $3000. The recommended goal for churches is $10,000. The fundraising goal of the Invitational is $50,000.
3 The Team Captain serves as the point person for the team and coordinates the fundraising and awareness efforts in their congregation or organization. The Team Captain can be a golfer or a pledge partner. Team Captains are responsible for collecting the pledges from their team players and pledge partners. Some teams choose to have two people serve as co-captains. Team Captain Timeline: Date & Time Meeting Notes: Location September 27, :00 PM 1:00 PM Team Captain Meeting pick up pledge packets and information to distribute to pledge partners. October 18, 2013 October 23, 2013 October 25, :00 AM 12:00 PM Turn in player names and entry fees. Turn in pledges and completed pledge forms - make sure pledge forms are filled out completely and accurately. Head to Top Golf and have fun! Top Golf The Domain 2700 Esperanza Crossing Austin, TX Each Team commits to raising $3000, and Team Captains are encouraged to challenge their team to a higher fundraising goal of $10,000. Collect all completed pledge information from golfers and pledge partners and turn in at specified dates in the format provided by. Coordinate opportunities for to provide its services for my church or organization. This event provides you and your church or organization with the opportunity to publicly support Austin LifeCare s life-affirming services. In addition, participation in the Top Golf Tourney will empower you to start talking openly about unplanned pregnancy and abortion in a safe, compassionate and sensitive manner. Not to mention, you get to play golf at the Top Golf Austin facility. Represent my Team by playing 2 hours of Top Golf on October 25th. Best efforts to help my Team raise a minimum of $3000 and reach their goals. Provide completed pledge information to Team Captain at specified dates. The entry fee is $40 per golfer which includes a catered lunch and prizes. This fee should be submitted to the Team Captain as soon as possible as your commitment to play.
4 Your Team minimum is $3,000. The maximum is up to you. We ve had players raise over $4000 each! Your Team Captain will provide Team members with pledge flyers to help raise pledges. The Team Captain will also be available to help, encourage and build team momentum. Raising that amount of money isn t as hard as you might think. Our experience has shown that four out of five people you ask will say Yes. Here are some tips to get started: 1. Make a list of potential donors you want to contact. 2. Send a flyer to each of these people asking them to consider becoming a sponsor. 3. Call each person within a week to 10 days. Ask if they received your flyer and if they would like to sponsor you. This call is crucial! It will give you an opportunity to share what you are doing to help serve women and families in the Austin community. 4. Ask for referrals. When you talk to people, ask them if they would introduce you to their friends who might also want to help. 5. Keep brainstorming! As you go about your day, think of people you can ask to sponsor you. The more people you ask, the more support you will raise. Most people give a flat rate donation. However, some people may wish to pledge a monthly donation over 12 months. No gift is too big or too small. will send pledge statements to your sponsors for you. accepts Visa, MasterCard, EFT and checks. When you talk to someone about pledging, it is very important to share why you are trying to raise pledges. Tell them about the Top Golf Tourney and about. It is critical that you actually get to the point of asking them to make a pledge. For many people, it is also a good idea to ask them to pledge a specific amount. All donations are tax deductible. All pledges should be turned in prior to the event by October 23, If you set weekly goals for yourself, and spend a couple hours during that week working toward your goal, you will be successful. It is best to make a list of prospective people or businesses. Then, send out some reminders regularly and follow them up with a phone call. If you pace yourself and work ahead, you will not only be successful, you also will not burn yourself out. A key concept is Ask Everyone, Everywhere. Carry some information sheets with you for those opportunities.
5 You may accept donations before the event, or accept pledges to be collected at a later date. You will turn in all of your pledge information to your Team Captain. After the Top Golf Tourney, your sponsors will be sent an appreciation note from. It will include the information on the day of the marathon and the total amount of their pledge. A receipt will be sent to each sponsor. It is important for you to provide complete information so that we can send them a receipt for their donations. If your sponsor hasn t sent in their pledge after one month, we will send them a reminder. Each golfers entry fee of $40 per person or $240 per team covers the cost of the event. That means all the funds raised in pledges and sponsorships can go directly to provide programs and services at centers. There are many keys to making the Top Golf Tourney a success. Experience shows us that beginning immediately and personally calling all potential sponsors are the most crucial elements of the entire event. Be sure to turn in all pledge information and monies to your Team Captain. IT IS IMPERATIVE that your pledge cards be filled out entirely and legibly. Your Team Captain will check your pledge cards and you will be asked for any missing information. The Team Captain must turn in your pledge information prior to the event in order for golfers to be eligible to play.
