2 Who are the Hawks? Newly acquired ABA (American Basketball Association) expansion team of Baltimore, MD. and surrounding territories: Baltimore County, Dundalk, Middle River, Ellicott City, White Marsh, Perry Hall, Towson, Randallstown, Owings Mills, Woodlawn, Columbia, and Glen Burnie. 13 Player Roster (2 Reserves) 2015 ABA Mid-Atlantic Division Champs, 2015 Expansion Team of the Year, 2016 ABA All-Star Game Host!

3 What do they do? The Hawks are Baltimore s only professional basketball team. Hawks will play a 22 game season (not including PostSeason)

4 Where will they play? 11 games will be played at home at in Baltimore City 11 road games (Primarily the easternseaboard from Boston, MA. to Florida) Trip to Honolulu, Hawaii Jan th

5 When will they play? The ABA Season begins in November and ends in April 2017 ESPN3 to televise game of the week throughout season and the Championship Finals (Hawks have 3 televised games this season) Hawks will stream home games live via Baltimore Hawks YouTube Channel. Games will be streamed live through Hawks Official Radio Station. Games will be primarily on weekends, starting between 5pm and 8pm. The top 8 teams go to the ABA Championship Finals in April

6 Why do it? First and foremost, we do this because we love Basketball! Baltimore has great sports fans and a storied basketball tradition, yet has no professional basketball team. Provide young men the chance to develop, enhance, and showcase their talent in basketball in the ABA in order to create and foster potential opportunities in the NBA, NBA D-League, and other positions overseas; As well as providing invaluable experience in the sports marketing world to staff and interns. Established a strong base for ABA in the Baltimore/Washington Corridor as a well-structured professional basketball team offering career advancement, job opportunities, and community service to the Mid-Atlantic region and worldwide.

8 The ABA and Hawks Organization

9 Original ABA The original ABA was founded in 1967, competing with the wellestablished National Basketball Association, until the ABA NBA merger in In the merger, the NBA acquired teams, players, and new rules from the ABA such as: Teams: New York Nets, Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, and San Antonio Spurs. Players: Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Billy Cunningham, Moses Malone, and lots more. New game rules and element such as the 3 point shot, dunk contest and All-Star game.

10 ABA 2000 The current ABA ABA 2000 was started by Joe Newman and Richard Tinkham. The ABA is the largest, and most diverse, professional sports league in the U.S., with over 75% of its 100 teams minority owned.

11 Hawks Management CEO and Owner, Gregory L. Brown, Jr. Greg Brown Jr. is a Baltimore native who has been an avid basketball fan since his childhood. Greg played abroad in Argentina and later in Scranton, California for the Port City Pirates of the ABA. Greg attended Anne Arundel Community College where he studied Criminal Justice. After seeing professional basketball missing in his hometown for nearly 50 years, Greg took on the challenge. He assembled a team of driven and talented coaches, players and office staff to make the dream a reality, The Hawks would go on to claim the Mid-Atlantic Division Championship in their first season!

14 Sports Marketing 101 Sports marketing is building a highly identified, passionate fan base such that fans, sponsors, media and government pay to promote and support the organization. Effective sports marketing is primarily premised upon building fan identification. The corporate community looks to sports marketing to create a lasting image in the hearts and minds of their target audience and also to build expanded awareness. This is done by leveraging the emotions created in the personality, sport or event, that you as a sponsor can build a strong bridge between your brand and their fans.

15 Marketing Strategy Attention The team cannot sell tickets or products if the members of the target market do not know we exist. The first major goal of any Hawks promotional campaign will be to attract the attention of potential customers. Interest Attracting attention seldom sells tickets or products. Therefore, the team will spark interest by showing why we are a good, cost effective entertainment option. Exciting games, winning ball team, fun & entertaining, affordable, family fun Desire To be successful, the team must move potential customers beyond mere interest in the team. Good promotion will stimulate desire by convincing potential customers of the team's offerings and its ability to satisfy their desire for high quality local sports. Action After convincing potential customers to buy the ticket or product, promotion must then push them toward the actual purchase. Selling tickets, merchandise and concession

16 Marketing Strategy The team will develop an integrated marketing strategy. Advertising(Print, Broadcast, Online/Interactive, Wireless, Direct Marketing) Personal Selling(Account Mgt, Prospecting, Retail Sales) Public Relations (Publicity, Press Releases, Newsletters) Sales Promotions (Consumer Promotions, Trade Promotions) Team will also utilize grassroots efforts: develop close philanthropic relationships with nonprofit groups in the community and help elevate small, local businesses.
