The Fishers YMCA and the Hamilton county YMCA youth development programs are committed to helping children and teens develop into healthy, caring and responsible adults. Our programs are carefully designed to provide opportunities for young people to accept and demonstrate the 4 core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through the YMCA character education initiative. CHILD CARE Play and Learn Center (Ages 6 wks-7yrs) We offer age-appropriate child care services to members while they are participating in a YMCA program or activity on-site. Individuals with Household Membership may use this service for their children up to two hours per day at no charge. Y Members: FREE Day Mon-Fri 7:45am-2pm; 3:45-8:15pm Sat 7:45am-1:30pm Sun Closed Rush Zone (Ages 8-12yrs) Inside the Play & Learn Center. This age-group has a supervised place to hang out while their parents enjoy their workouts! Kids can utilize the rock climb wall, play on the pop-a-shot gaming system, play board games, do crafts and meet new friends! Individuals with Household Membership may use this service for their children up to two hours per day at no charge. Hours same as Play and Learn Center. Y Members: FREE Drop Off Child Care (Ages 6wks-12yrs) Have errands to run and can't find a sitter? Let us help! As a Y member, you can take advantage of our Child Watch babysitting service for up to 3 hours while the Play and Learn Center is open. Different than utilizing Child Watch while in the building or participating in our programs, this babysitting service is for individuals with a Household Membership who wish to leave the building, run errands, etc. Please call ahead for availability. $5/hour per child

2 EARLY CHILDHOOD YMCA Preschool Program REGISTRATION FOR THE 2016/2017 SCHOOL YEAR HAS BEGUN! Did you know that the Fishers YMCA offers a curriculum based program for preschool-aged children? YMCA's 4 character development values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are emphasized, and curriculum is based on the rigorously researched Creative Curriculum for Preschool. State guidelines for ratios are followed for all age groups. (Ages 3-4yrs) Children learn socialization, independence, self-esteem and friendship through stories, games, crafts, music and gym time! Must be independently toilet trained and age 3 by September 1, (Ages 4-5yrs) Children will prepare for kindergarten through hands-on activities in language, music, art, science, math and gym time! We will also practice our fine motor and writing skills. Must be independently toilet trained and age 4 by September 1, A non-refundable deposit of $10 per month of preschool is required to secure your registration. This deposit will be credited toward your monthly preschool fee. For families who are not YMCA members, there will be an additional $30 (individual child) or $50 (for multiple children) program registration fee. Space for these enrichment programs is limited so please register early. $28/month for Preschool Participants Bright Start (Ages 2-3) Dynamic and age-appropriate learning and interaction for kids 2-3 yrs old and parent. Tuesdays 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Fishers YMCA Community Room. Y Members: $30 All Others: $65 Shoobeloo Music and Movement (Ages 10mo-5yrs) Recommended for 18mo-4yrs. Sing, dance, drum, and learn! Y Members: $45 All Others: $65 Day Thu 12:30-1:30 p.m. Homeschool Synergy! (Ages 7+) Led by a Personal Trainer, this is a great combination of strength and cardiovascular exercise. Similar to CrossFit, but safe for ages 7+! Come sweat with us! Y Members: $45 All Others: $65 Day Location Mon 12:00-1:00 p.m. Synergy Studio (back hallway, near Preschool Room) TWEENS & TEENS NEW! Empowering Teens (Ages 11-14) Open discussion, group work, volunteering, and more make up this new program! Fun and empowering! Y Members: $30 All Others: $35 Day Wed 6:30-8:00 p.m. Safe Sitter (Ages 11-13) This nationally-recognized instructional program is medically accurate, hands-on, and teaches boys and girls how to handle emergencies such as injury management and choking rescue while caring for children. Learn the basics of childcare through games, activities and role play. Course includes infant CPR as well as a kit with a manual, bag, etc. Please bring a sack lunch. Available the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month (except Nov and Dec only 1x/month). 9am-3pm. Please register by 1:30 p.m. the Thursday prior to class. Y Members: $49 All Others: $71

4 TV Production Club (Ages 11-15) It s back! Led by a professional producer, participants will research Y-related stories, interview staff and members (or community), and produce videos that will be shared to You Tube and the Fishers YMCA Facebook page! Learn all aspects of production. Y Members: $45 All Others: $64 Day Wed 6:00-7:00 p.m. Y YOUTH & FAMILY SPECIAL INTEREST Understanding and Motivating Teens (For parents) What really drives your teen and how can you communicate more effectively with them? Certified Academic Life Coach David Roux will provide useful information in this FREE class on how to increase their motivation, improve communication between you and your teen, reduce teen stress, and understand their strengths. 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. 9:15-10:15 a.m. Free! Please register at Fishers Y Member Services. Kid s Night Out (Ages 6wks-12 years) Enjoy a night out while your children have a safe and fun-filled evening at the Fishers Y! Kids night out programs are offered on the first and third Saturday of each month in our Play and Learn area. Children will meet new friends, play games, make crafts and much more!
