2 JOB DESCRIPTION Marketing and PR Manager OVERVIEW The Tetley is a fast-growing contemporary visual art organisation that plays a key part in the development of the South Bank and the changing landscape of the city s cultural offer. With the British Art Show in town and Leeds 2023 on the horizon, this role offers the opportunity to become involved in and contribute to an exciting chapter new for the city. At The Tetley, we are passionate about contemporary art and its power to excite and inspire people of all backgrounds and ages. We work with artists who are often in the early stages of their professional careers and operate at the forefront of contemporary art practice. These artists are pushing boundaries and breaking new ground in visual art. The successful candidate will be joining at an exciting point in the organisation s life and play a major role in the delivery of a highly ambitious creative programme and rapidly growing Bar & Kitchen. Working closely with the curatorial and commercial teams, the successful candidate will be the voice of the visitor and be responsible for developing and co-ordinating all marketing and PR activity across the organisation. Working with a series of partners across both marketing and PR, the successful candidate will be working on full campaign delivery from creative design to print and press delivery. Responsible for The Tetley brand and all materials delivered within this, this role will involve managing the design and delivery of all branded and marketing elements through a newly established Design Residency. The successful candidate will work on an annual basis with an emerging graphic designer to lead the development of annual interpretation of the brand. 3 JOB PROFILE Responsible to: Creative Director Responsible for: Marketing and Events Assistant and Design Resident The Tetley is a multi-faceted organisation with a USP that spans across contemporary art, heritage, learning, events and food and drink. The successful applicant will be adept to working with this broad portfolio of brands across various markets. The core purpose of the job is to research, plan, deliver and evaluate marketing and PR campaigns for all aspects of the organisation delivering cut through and presence across a broad spectrum of media. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, creative and organised and an excellent communicator. HOURS OF WORK Core Hours: 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday: 9am 5.30pm plus occasional evenings and weekends. MAIN DUTIES To develop, deliver and evaluate a successful marketing and PR campaign for The Tetley that: Increases awareness of the venue locally, regionally and nationally Increases awareness of the programme (artistic, heritage and participation) Delivers increased footfall and sales via our commercial activities (corporate hire, retail and Bar & Kitchen) Delivers a cohesive brand and meaningful stories across each season KEY TASKS Responsibility for marketing budget and spend Responsibility for the interpretation and delivery of the brand across all media including creation of exhibition specific and event specific artwork Brand guardian responsible for the delivery and presence of The Tetley across all media and print To co-ordinate and manage campaigns and communicate them consistently across all creative, print and press To lead and manage The Tetley s media relations including proactive generation of media coverage and media enquiries To manage The Tetley s online presence including website social media strategy and oversee day to day activity Manage and update The Tetley listings across all media and membership sites Manage delivery of marketing specific partnership relationships (Leeds Beckett, Trinity advertising etc) Manage communication to our database including bi-weekly newsletter, membership exclusives, corporate offers and follow up communications from event Manage the production and delivery of the seasonal What s On guides. Set and meet deadlines for its production and dissemination across our database and city partners Any other duties that may reasonably be required
