Yu can use walk ff mats at all entrances t help prevent dirt and misture frm tracking thrugh yur building. Sealing and finishing is a task that nt nly enhances the appearance f flring, but will prtect the flr surface fr many years t cme. 2 T Begin First, remve all furnishings, mats, and ther freestanding bjects frm the wrk area. Dust mp the entire flr and remve any gum tape r glue residue. Ensure t pst wet flr signs at all entrances. Next, add the prper amunt f stripper t cld water. Always fllw directins n the prduct label. Apply stripping slutin t a 10x10 area and allw 8-10 minutes t pass. The flr must remain cmpletely wet during this time. Scrub the entire flr with the flr machine and a stripping pad. If there is a heavy build up, scrub in bth directins making sure the flr stays wet. Next, vacuum excess slutin and water with a wet vac (including edges and crners). Rinse the flr using a clean mp and a bucket f clear water. Repeat until the flr is cmpletely free f residue. If necessary, use a wet vacuum t remve any extra water. Wipe all adjacent areas, which may have been splashed during the stripping prcess. Here is a list f supplies required fr yur prject: Rubber glves and ftwear Safety Glasses Wet flr signs Dust mp Scraper and blades Tw mp bucket Tw clean mps and handles Flr machine Stripping pads Ddle bug hlder and pads Wet vac Squeegee Wiping clths Stripper (see selectin chart) Flr finish (see selectin chart) Allw the flr t dry cmpletely, then check t ensure all flr finish and residue has been remved. Keep all traffic ff f the flr area until the flr has been refinished. Helpful Hints Never pur unused sealer r finish back int the cntainer. Apply sealer nly t the pint that the flr has an even appearance. Apply finish cats as required t give yu the desired appearance. Apply nly the secnd cat f sealer, and the last cat f finish t the edges; this will help avid build up. 2

3 Dust Mpping. Mre Helpful Hints Begin by remving all bstacles frm yur wrk area including matting. Then scrape any gum r glue residue frm the flr surface. Using a dust mp, push alng the edge f wrking area. Dust mp the center f yur wrk area, gently shaking ut the mp at the end f each path. Change the directin f the mpping pattern fr each cat. Keep yur mp stred in the bucket while waiting fr cats t dry. The ideal temperature f the flr shuld be arund 15 Celcius. Clean the mp thrughly when switching between sealer and finish. Sweep all dirt and debris int a dustpan and empty. Finish by cleaning ut the dust mp by brushing r vacuuming. Damp Mpping. First, fill a mp bucket with a cleaner/degreaser. Be sure t use cl water and fllw label directins. DO NOT apply mre than six cats in a 24 hur perid. If mre cats are required, allw the flr t cure fr a few days, give it a light scrub, and then apply any additinal cats. Apply sealer nly if the flr has been stripped. DO NOT apply sealer ver finish. If yur mp starts t drag when applying finish r sealer, wash mp thrughly and wring ut. Fllw these steps fr heavy sil cnditins: Apply slutin withut wringing ut mp. Let stand 3-5 minutes. Pick up slutin with a wrung ut mp. Rinse flring. Thrughly clean all equipment and hang up mp s that air can circulate t prevent mld and mildew. 3

Less aggressive chemicals Deep Scrubbing First, remve all furnishings, mats, and free standing bjects frm wrk area. Then, dust mp the entire area and remve any gum, tape, r glue residue. Pst wet flr signs at all entrances. Next, add degreaser t rm temperature water. Ensure yu fllw the mixing directins n the label. Apply slutin t a 10x10 area. Fr heavy sil cnditins allw a five minute dwelling time, making sure the flr stays cmpletely wet. Scrub all edges f the flr with a flr machine and scrubbing pad. If there is heavy buildup f flr finish, scrub in bth directins ensuring the flr stays cmpletely wet. Next, vacuum up excess slutin and water with a wet vac, including edges and crners. Using a clean mp and bucket f clean water t rinse the flr. Then, vacuum up the rinse water and repeat if necessary. Give flr a final rinse with a clean mp and water. Wipe all adjacent areas, which have been splashed during the scrubbing prcedure. Line the mp bucket with a ply bag t avid cntaminatin. Next, pur sealer r finish slwly int the mp bucket. Puring slutin slwly will help t prevent fam. Dip yur mp int the bucket and wring ut. Starting next t yur bucket, apply sealer r finish in a pre-determined pattern, in a figure eight mtin. Allw each cat t dry thrughly befre attempting the next cat.

5 Spray Buffing Here is a list f supplies yu will require: Dust mp Spray buff slutin Flr machine Buffing pads Here is a list f supplies yu will require fr UHS Burnishing: Dust mp Burnishing slutin UHS Burnisher (1500 RPM r higher) Burnishing pads Spray buffing is an excellent way t maintain glss and durability between peridic restratins f a finished flr. Always be sure t cmplete prper dust mpping and damp mpping befre spray buffing t avid sil being buffed int the flr finish. T begin, center a red buffing pad n the flr machine and adjust the height t the prper psitin. Spray a 50/50 mix f clean water and spray buff slutin int a small area f the flr surface. Run the flr machine ver the entire sprayed area t frm a hazy film. Cntinue t run the machine ver the same area until the desired glss is achieved. Repeat until the entire area is cmpleted. Next, dust mp the entire wrk area and clean all equipment. UHS Burnishing T start, center a burnishing pad nt the burnisher and adjust pad pressure. Optinal: spray r squirt a small amunt f spray buff slutin/water mix nt the flr directly in frnt f the burnisher. Lwer the burnisher ver the slutin and mve the machine frward until the pad starts t dry ut. Repeat until the entire wrk area is cmpleted, changing the pad as it becmes laded. Then, dust mp the entire wrk area. 5
