All Optional tour rates are Sales Rates and are commissionable at 10% All snowmobile safaris include thermal outfit, guide services in English, each snowmobile shared by two guests taking turns in driving, fuel, traffic insurance (maximum personal liability 980), maintenance and VAT. Kirkenes - KING CRAB SAFARI: A totally unforgettable experience awaits you on the frozen fjords of Kirkenes, Norway. This tour is your chance to catch, learn how to cook and most importantly taste this mysterious creature. The Arctic King Crab is one of the most sought after meals in top restaurants, and yet here, you get to eat the best and the freshest, pulled from the fjord in front of your eyes. You all take part in helping to cut the hole in the ice and bring up the catch. You will see how the crab is prepared by your master guide, and you will be taken by snowmobile sledge (an experience in itself) to a beautiful farmhouse by the lake. It is here by a cozy log fire that your King Crab meal awaits. Transfers to and from your hotel in Kirkenes is included, and warm clothing and a helmet is provided. Kirkenes OVERNIGHT AT SNOW HOTEL (SNOW IGLOO): For those that are game, there is also an opportunity to choose to stay in a Snow Igloo at the Snow Hotel, sleeping in a thermal sleeping bag in approximately 5 degrees Celsius. There will be an available local guide to help you prepare for the evening ahead, making sure you are as comfortable as possible. After one of the most refreshing sleeps to date, you are able to take a sauna and a shower before having your breakfast (between 07:00 08:30). 2 (EXCEPT DEPARTURE 15 th February) 3. Saariselkä - FISHING EXPERIENCE BY SNOWMOBILE The trail on this snowmobile safari takes you to north of Saariselkä to a remote lake. Drill a hole through the ice and try fishing skills on ice! The catch may even include the jewel of Lapland's crystal waters, the Arctic char. You will enjoy a snack by the campfire and have the opportunity to fry the fish you just caught. DURATION: 4 hours (09:00-13:00) PRICE: USD 178 /person AVAILABLE TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS and DAY 5 4. Saariselkä - REINDEER SAFARI In the old days the only means of winter transportation for the people of Lapland was on sleighs pulled by reindeer. Often, there could be as many as reindeer in a long raito caravan. You will experience this traditional, peaceful way of moving through white landscapes where the only sound you will hear is the light ringing of reindeer bells. Hot drinks will be served by the fire. Saariselkä - CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: There is no better way to get acquainted with winter in Lapland than using the ancient method of the first settlers in Lapland. Fasten the skis to your skiing shoes, lean on the sticks and glide along the tracks through the pure whiteness. A stop is made to have a cup of hot berry juice. Saariselkä - HUSKY SAFARI The barking of enthusiastic dogs will welcome you to the safari at the departure point. Before departing on your journey, you will be given instructions on how to control the sleds, which you will ride in pairs. Passengers may swap places at the halfway point. The head musher will talk about the life and training of these Arctic animals and you will also have the chance to take some great photos. The departure point may change according to weather conditions. Hot drinks will be served by a campfire. Saariselkä SNOWMOBILE SAFARI TO A REINDEER FARM Visit a local reindeer farm by snowmobile. During the visit, you will learn how to throw the Lappish lasso and drive the reindeer sleigh. Before returning, you will have a coffee break and learn more about Lappish culture and reindeer.
