Fiber Systems International (FSI) offers rugged military and industrial multi-channel fiber optic connectors for deployable, shipboard, outdoor, and fixed communication system requirements. FSI s connectors are designed to provide the best possible optical performance in applications with extremely severe environmental conditions. 3 shell sizes are available: B, C, and F. Shell size B can accommodate up to 4, C up to 8, and Shell size F can accommodate up to 31 optical contacts. Plugs and Receptacles have 6 unique key options to prevent configuration problems on systems using multiple connectors. FSI also offers a universal key configuration on both plugs and receptacles, which are ideal for use on test cables. The backshell features the QUICKLOC Kevlar captivation system. Not only is it simple to install, it is just as easy to remove the kevlar captivation and recapture the same Kevlar without cutting back the cable. The QUICKLOC backshell also enables easy access to maintain or reconfigure termini without altering the captivated Kevlar. Standard M28876 Stainless Steel M28876 and backshells are available in both CAD plated aluminum and stainless steel. For less corrosive environmental situations the Aluminum with Cadmium (Olive Drab) Plate over Electroless nickel may be used. Stainless steel may be the ideal solution for applications where direct contact with salt spray and other corrosive elements are possible. The FSXM Series of connectors use the field proven MIL-T /14 & /15 termini.
