8 Preparing t use ēn Yur Macintsh cmputer must have: OS X r higher Available USB 2.0 prt fr ēn receiver r PlyVisin Bluetth mdule (internal Bluetth radi may als be used.) ēn App installatin T install the ēn App n the hst cmputer: 1 Lcate the ēn receiver and cnnect it t a USB prt f the hst cmputer. Nte Fr the best signal receptin, make sure that n bstacles are present between the stylus and ēn receiver during nrmal use. Optinally, yu can cnnect the USB extender cable (prvided) t the cmputer and ēn receiver t help yu assure ptimum expsure f the ēn receiver. Nte If yu see a prmpt frm the perating system t rebt, wait until after the ēn App is installed t avid a secnd rebt. 2 Lcate the installatin DVD fr ēn App versin 3.0 r higher and insert it int yur cmputer disk drive, r dwnlad the applicatin frm techsupprt.steelcase.cm/hme/dwnlads. Installatin shuld begin autmatically. If it des nt: Windws: duble-click My Cmputer n yur desktp, duble-click the disk named ēn App. T install the ēn App in English, duble-click PVAutRun.exe. T install the ēn App in anther language, navigate t the apprpriate flder and duble-click Setup. Macintsh: duble-click the ēn App icn n yur desktp, duble-click the Mac flder, and duble-click the ēn App 3.0.dmg file. 3 Fllw the prmpts yu see n the screen t cmplete the installatin. 4 Yu must rebt yur system at the end f the installatin. 9 Preparing t use ēn Nte Yu have the pprtunity t pair the Bluetth signal at the end f the ēn App installatin prcess. Refer t Pair the ēn stylus with the ēn receiver n page 10. When installatin is cmplete, a message appears n yur cmputer screen and the ēn App icn appears in yur system tray (Windws r menu extras (Macintsh). ēn App icn The ēn App runs unbtrusively in the backgrund whenever yur cmputer is n. 10 Preparing t use ēn Pwer n and ff the stylus Cmmunicatin between the stylus and hst cmputer takes place when yu remve the stylus cap. T turn the ēn stylus n and ff: Remve and replace the stylus cap. Nte When the stylus is nt in use, replace the cap t extend battery life. Nte If yu updated t ēn App versin 3.0 r higher and yu have an lder PlyVisin Bluetth adapter, refer t If yu use the lder PlyVisin Bluetth adapter... n page 16. newer ēn receiver lder PlyVisin Bluetth adapter T install the ēn receiver and pair it with the ēn stylus: 1 Turn n the hst cmputer and assure that the ēn App versin 3.0 r higher has already been installed. 11 Preparing t use ēn Nte Fr the best signal receptin, make sure that n bstacles are present between the stylus and ēn receiver during nrmal use. Optinally, cnnect the USB extender cable (prvided) t the cmputer and ēn receiver t help yu assure ptimum expsure f the ēn receiver. 3 Turn n the ēn stylus by remving the cap. 4 Wait fr the stylus LED t blink green nce every three secnds. Refer t ēn stylus LED status summary n page 13 fr additinal stylus LED signals. 5 Press and release the buttn n the ēn receiver t pair the Bluetth signal with the stylus. While the ēn receiver searches fr the ēn stylus Bluetth signal, a status message appears n the cmputer screen and the LED n the ēn receiver flashes green. After pairing is successful (within 30 secnds), the status message n the cmputer screen indicates that ēn is ready t use and the ēn receiver LED changes t a slid blue clr. If pairing is nt successful, a status message appears n the cmputer screen. Trubleshting: If pairing was nt successful, yu can try t reslve the prblem by remving the ēn receiver frm the USB prt, waiting five secnds, and reinserting it befre attempting the pairing prcess again. 12 Preparing t use ēn Nte Althugh it is nt recmmended, it is pssible t use the hst cmputer s built-in Bluetth capability r a third-party Bluetth prduct t pair with the ēn stylus. Refer t Appendix 1: ēn Bluetth pairing ptins n page 66. The stylus is identified as device ADP-301. ēn receiver LED status summary and trubleshting If the ēn receiver LED is green and Flashes five times after yu attempted pairing, the stylus and the ēn receiver have been successfully paired. Flashes three times when yu remved the stylus cap (after the stylus has been paired and the ēn App 3.0 r higher is running), the ēn stylus has successfully recnnected t yur cmputer. If the ēn receiver LED is blue and Is slid blue, the ēn App is cmmunicating with the ēn receiver. Is flashing as yu use the stylus, data is streaming frm the ēn stylus t yur cmputer successfully. If the ēn receiver LED is red and Quickly flashes five times after yu attempted pairing, the stylus and the ēn receiver have nt been successfully paired. Yu need t start the pairing prcess ver again. Flashes three times when yu remved the stylus cap (after the ēn stylus has been paired and the ēn App 3.0 r higher is running), the ēn stylus has nt been successfully cnnected t yur cmputer. Yu need t cap and uncap the stylus again. Is slid red, the ēn App is nt updated t versin 3.0 r higher, r the driver is nt running. Launch the ēn App versin 3.0 r higher n the hst cmputer and start the pairing prcess ver again. Steelcase 12

LED Blinks every three secnds Tw secnd slid green Blinks quickly six times Cnditin Pairing mde Cnnected and ready t use Lw battery Getting started with a prjectr T set up the prjectr and get started using yur cmputer frm the whitebard: 1 Lcate yur prjectr s vide cable and cnnect it t the vide prt f yur cmputer. 2 Cnnect the ther end f the vide cable t yur prjectr. 3 Cnnect the prjectr s pwer crd t an utlet. 4 Turn n the prjectr and fcus yur cmputer screen squarely nt yur whitebard. The prjected image des nt need t fill the white area. 5 Calibrate the cmputer and whitebard, as described belw. Calibrate the cmputer with the whitebard It may be necessary t calibrate the whitebard with the cmputer desktp. This assures that the lcatin the stylus tip tuches the whitebard exactly crrespnds t the prjected cmputer cursr and pen. T calibrate the ēn whitebard with the prjected hst cmputer: 1 When the cmputer desktp is prjected nt the whitebard, make sure it fits within the whitebard frame. 2 Use the ēn stylus t tap the Calibrate icn n the ēn App icn strip ne time. 14 Preparing t use ēn Nte If yu updated t ēn App versin 3.0 r higher and yu have an lder icn strip, tap the Align icn, shwn belw. newer Calibrate icn lder Align icn Nte If this is the first use f the ēn whitebard, if the cmputer has just rebted, r if the ēn App has just been launched, then tap the whitebard instead f the Calibrate icn. The calibratin windw shwn belw prjects frm the cmputer t the whitebard. 3 Use the ēn stylus t tap each target prjected n the whitebard, fllwing instructins yu see n the whitebard. T cancel the calibratin: Press ESC n the cmputer keybard. ēn App versin 3.2 r higher: tap the Calibrate r Align icn. When calibratin is cmplete, yu are ready t begin using the stylus t interact with the cmputer. Steelcase 14

15 Preparing t use ēn Using ēn with a different hst cmputer The newer ēn receiver makes crdless cmmunicatin with a different hst cmputer easy. T use ēn with a different hst cmputer: 1 Make sure the ēn App 2.4 r higher is installed n the cmputer. 2 Mve the ēn receiver t the USB prt n the cmputer. There is n need t pair the stylus again. Remving a stylus paired t the ēn receiver Related tpics: Multiple ēn users Yu can pair up t eight ēn styli t ne ēn receiver. T remve every ēn stylus that is paired t ne ēn receiver: Press and hld the buttn n the ēn receiver fr n less than ten secnds. A status message appears n the cmputer screen t indicate that all pairing was remved frm the ēn receiver. T remve any ne stylus paired t the ēn receiver: 1 Click the ēn App icn n the hst cmputer. 2 Chse Settings fr ēn App frm the menu. 3 Click the Status tab. 4 Turn n the ēn stylus by remving the cap. 5 Select the ēn stylus in the list f Prducts in the Status tab. 6 Click Remve Stylus. Related tpics: ēn stylus LED status summary If yu upgraded t the ēn App versin 3.0 r higher, yu may be using the riginal PlyVisin Bluetth adapter rather than the newer ēn receiver. newer ēn receiver lder PlyVisin Bluetth adapter Nte Yu can btain a new ēn receiver (service part number ENOREC01) by cntacting yur lcal sales representative r Steelcase dealer. When yu use the riginal PlyVisin Bluetth adapter, the ēn stylus establishes a Bluetth cnnectin t the hst cmputer rather than t the Bluetth adapter. As a result, when yu want t use ēn with a different hst cmputer in the same rm, yu need t unpair the ēn stylus frm the hst cmputer befre yu can pair it t a different hst cmputer. T unpair the stylus frm the hst cmputer: 1 Click the ēn App icn n the hst cmputer. 2 Chse Settings fr ēn App frm the menu. 3 Click the Status tab. 4 Turn n the ēn stylus by remving its cap. 5 Select the ēn stylus in the list f Prducts in the Status tab. 6 Click Remve Stylus. 17 Preparing t use ēn Multiple ēn users The ēn App enables multiple users t cllabrate in a variety f scenaris. Multiple ēn styli The ēn whitebard prvides a crdless experience fr presentatins and cllabratin fr up t fur users at the same time. Fur users, with their wn stylus, can write, erase, and interact with the cmputer simultaneusly. T pair each ēn stylus with the same ēn receiver, refer t Pair the ēn stylus with the ēn receiver n page 10. Each user can write at the same time using a unique pen style. When ne participant taps the Muse r Markup icn, all users enter the same mde. Only ne user at a time can cntrl the muse. Multiple ēn interactive whitebards and icn strips ēn als supprts up t three whitebards shwing separate parts f the hst cmputer desktp, as if yu were using multiple mnitrs with the cmputer. Yu may need t add an additinal vide card(s) t use multiple prjectrs. Since each whitebard cmmunicates via the same hst cmputer s ēn App, yu have the ptin t use fur styli n any f the whitebards. Each stylus must have be paired t the same ēn receiver. Refer t Pair the ēn stylus with the ēn receiver n page 10. In a rm with multiple whitebards that respnd t the same hst cmputer, each whitebard must have a unique A, B, r C magnetic icn strip and a unique prduct identificatin number (lcated n the lwer left crner f the whitebard). This enables users at each bard t independently write, erase, and perate the cmputer. Fr example, the user at bard A can write in red ink while the user at bard B writes in black ink. B magnetic icn strip B T cnfigure the ēn App t respnd t the A, B, r C magnetic icn strip (r All ): 1 Cnnect the prjectrs t yur cmputer. 2 Click the ēn App icn in the system tray (Windws) r menu extras (Macintsh). 3 Chse Settings fr ēn App frm the menu. 4 Click Status. The settings fr that prduct appear in the lwer part f the windw. 6 Click the drp dwn menu beside Bard respnds t Icn Strip ID and chse the ptin that crrespnds t the magnetic icn strip labeled A, B, r C n that bard. Chse All when yu want all whitebards t respnd t all icn strips r when nly ne whitebard is used. 7 Repeat fr up t tw additinal ēn interactive whitebards with prjectrs cnnected t the cmputer. The calibratin between the whitebard and the prjected cmputer desktp is imprtant and may require adjustment n each whitebard separately. T calibrate multiple whitebards: 1 Click the ēn App icn in the system tray (Windws) r menu extras (Macintsh). 2 Chse Align (Calibrate) the Display frm the menu. 3 Chse the display ptin that crrespnds t the magnetic icn strip labeled A, B, r C n that whitebard. 4 Fllw instructins yu see prjected frm the cmputer t the whitebard. 20 Using ēn Crrect stylus rientatin Fr ptimum perfrmance: hld the stylus at a slight angle (nt 90 degrees frm the whitebard). hld the stylus with LED facing up tward the ceiling as shwn belw. The stylus Bluetth cnnectin If a ntificatin appears briefly in the lwer left crner f the whitebard telling yu that Yur stylus is discnnected, the stylus has becme temprarily discnnected frm cmmunicatin with the hst cmputer. This cmmnly ccurs if: the stylus is turned ff by replacing the stylus cap. T resume cmmunicatin, simply remve the stylus cap. the stylus has autmatically entered sleep mde t save battery life after a perid f inactivity. T resume cmmunicatin, simply replace the stylus cap and then remve it again. the stylus mves further than apprximately 32 feet (10 m) frm the hst cmputer. T resume cmmunicatin, mve clser t the hst cmputer, replace the stylus cap, and then remve it again. the stylus battery needs t be replaced. Refer t Install the ēn stylus battery n page 9. The hst cmputers must have the ēn App versin 3.0 r higher installed. Pairing nly needs t ccur nce, and even changing the ēn stylus battery will nt unpair the stylus. The ēn receiver autmatically pairs with the ēn stylus when yu press the pairing buttn n the tp f the ēn receiver. Remve the cap frm the ēn stylus t turn it n first, then press the pairing buttn n the receiver.
