Welcome Dear Corporate Representative, Thank you for your interest in partnering with the Stanford Society of Women Engineers (SWE). We are always grateful for the relationships that we have with our industry partners and for the continued support that we receive from them. We are excited to welcome you to be a part of Stanford SWE! Stanford SWE is a chapter of the National Society of Women Engineers, an organization with over thirty thousand professional and collegiate members across the country. At Stanford SWE, we strive to uphold and promote a three-pronged mission: to promote the study of engineering to the Bay Area s K-12 community through outreach initiatives; to provide resources for the professional and career development of our members; and finally, to strengthen relationships and connections within the female engineering community and to the engineering community at large. SWE welcomes both general sponsorships which contribute to the development of our organization as a whole, as well as targeted event sponsorships in each of our main branches outreach, professional development, and membership development. We greatly appreciate the corporate partnerships that we have, and we wholeheartedly encourage new and existing industry partners to become involved in our events and programming. Additional information on any of SWE s programs can be found on our website: swe.stanford.org. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about the opportunities for corporate partnership and sponsorship that we outline here. We thank you again for your support, and greatly look forward to working with you this upcoming year and beyond! Best regards, Jacqueline Tao, President Victoria Wee, Co-Vice President of External Affairs Anna Wang, Co-Vice President of External Affairs 3

Sponsorship Levels General sponsorship from companies is greatly helpful to SWE for supporting any of the programs listed above, as well as the many other programs and events that we host for our members. These include SWE families, our graduate mentorship program, officer retreats, social events, end-of-year banquet, and more. General sponsors should pursue event-specific sponsorships separately, if interested. Company name & logo featured on the SWE website for the academic year, and company is recognized as a SWE sponsor Preference for Speaker Series date, if a Speaker Series presentation is sponsored separately Preference for Evening with Industry table, if the table is sponsored separately Resume book Bronze Sponsor: $500 - $999 Silver Sponsor: $ $1999 Gold Sponsor: $ $2999 Platinum Sponsor: $3000+ X X X X X X X X X X 5

Professional Development Sponsorship Opportunities Speaker Series Program ($500) Every Wednesday at noon, we bring in a representative from a different engineeringrelated company to give a presentation or workshop on their industry experiences. Meetings have around 40 members general SWE members in attendance. The Speaker Series is an opportunity to reach out to SWE members to broadcast a company s mission, get face time with SWE members potentially interested in jobs/internships, and offer guidance/workshops for young engineers. The sponsorship cost is used primarily to cover lunch for members. Company Specific Information Sessions ($700 + cost of venue) These information sessions allow companies to highlight the company s unique qualities and products as well as promote career opportunities available to Stanford students. Information sessions are held at a time and venue of the company s choice, usually lasting around 2 hours. The specific event schedule is up to the company to decide, possibly comprising of presentation + Q&A or a mixer with company representatives and students. The sponsorship cost is used primarily to cover the food, advertising, and logistics. Opportunity Job Fair ($1350) OJF is the largest STEM focused career fair at Stanford, featuring 120 companies from engineering industry and over 2,000 student attendees. It is hosted by the four engineering diversity societies in conjunction with the CDC and the School of Engineering Dean s Office. The OJF is an excellent opportunity for companies to recruit students and to gain publicity and name recognition within the engineering community at Stanford. Evening with Industry ($1200) We invite approximately eight companies to attend this annual industry networking dinner at the Stanford Faculty Club. Company representatives are paired at a table with School of Engineering students, and students chat with our corporate partners to learn more about life in industry and opportunities at the company. Evening with Industry is an unique chance for companies to spend time with top Stanford Engineering students in a more intimate setting. The sponsorship is used primarily to cover the food and venue costs. 6

Company Tours ($500 + transportation costs) Tours of companies in the area expose our members to the local engineering industry and give them an opportunity to get to know a company more intimately. During the tour, companies have the freedom to decide the event program for SWE members, including but not limited to: presentations, workshops, and discussions. The sponsorship cost covers advertising and logistics. Mentorship Program (varies) A mentorship program is an incredible opportunity for both a company and our SWE members to build one-on-one relationships. Mentors can offer guidance in terms of academic, career, and even personal development. Our current mentorship programs include an application process that seeks to create mentor-mentee pairs based on factors such as field of engineering and extracurricular interests. SWE and the sponsoring company work to plan group events, but each mentor and mentee have the freedom to plan their own sessions. SWE is always excited to hear from companies interested in developing more personal connections with our members. 7

Member Development Sponsorship Opportunities National Conference Fellowship ($700 per student) The National SWE conference is one of the most highly-anticipated events of the year and an extraordinarily valuable event for our members, who not only gain exposure to hundreds of industry and graduate school contacts but also attend information workshops on topics ranging from personal finance to leadership in the corporate world. Sponsoring a student s attendance through the the National Conference Fellowship enables one of our members to access this exciting and valuable event. The sponsoring corporation will be featured on the SWE website and social media outlets, and the corporation s name and support acknowledged in all conference marketing and publicity materials. The conference will be held in Los Angeles from October Excellence in Engineering Student Fellowship (amount of your choice) SWE s Excellence in Engineering Fellowship is the perfect opportunity to support a diversity engineering student with the cost of their education. Corporations are invited to delineate the exact criteria of the scholarship(s), select the winner(s), and present the scholarship(s) at the end of the year gala. Your company will be recognized as a key sponsor during our general meetings, announcements, and other forms of publicity. Your company logo will also be on our website for the entire school year. Faculty Lunches ($750/quarter) In the fall and winter, SWE works with the School of Engineering faculty to host faculty lunches that bring in professors from a range of departments to chat with members about their field, their own path, and any advice they have to share. These lunches are a rare opportunity for students to engage with faculty in an intimate, out-of-theclassroom setting. Corporate support will be acknowledged in all advertisements publicizing the event. End-of-Year Gala ($3000) Our final event of the year brings SWE members together for a celebration of the year s achievements, and attendance is the highest of any of our regularly scheduled events. Highlights from the year are shared, faculty advisors speak, all internal awards are presented, and the upcoming year s leadership team is announced. The corporate sponsor would be the title sponsor of the event (i.e. [Corporation Name] SWE Gala ), and would have the opportunity to bring a speaker to the event to engage with our students. 8

Outreach Initiatives Sponsorship Opportunities SWE strives to build a community of responsible and socially conscious engineers. As a result, our SWE chapter is dedicated to reaching out to the younger engineering community. SWE hosts many exciting outreach events every year, targeted toward elementary, middle, and high school students in the Bay Area. At each of our events, we aim to expose students to engineering fields and to encourage them to pursue their interests in science and engineering. Students do fun hands-on activities, tour the Stanford campus and labs, and have conversations with SWE members. Because we target underserved communities, we invite students to our events at no charge to their families their schools. We always welcome corporate sponsorship to help cover costs of transportation for students, materials and supplies, lunch, and room reservations. Please visit our website for photos and details about the outreach events listed below. Exploring New Worlds ($6000) Exploring New Worlds (ENW) is SWE s largest outreach event of the year, featuring more than two hundred elementary school students. The focus of this event is to foster one-on-one relationships between our volunteers and the elementary students. Teams of volunteers prepare workshops designed to introduce an exciting and relatable application of their engineering major. As a result, the unique outreach event allows for membership development within our collegiate chapter as the SWE chapter prepares to greet more than two hundred elementary school students during our one-day, workshop-filled event. Examples of past workshops include a Banana DNA Extraction Workshop, a Rube Goldberg Machine Workshop, and a Climate Change Workshop. Science is SWEet ($3000) Science is SWEet is an elementary school outreach event planned for winter quarter. Each year, we bring fifty to sixty elementary school students from underserved schools in the local area to learn about engineering, with a sweet twist. Many of the workshops during our one-day Science is SWEet event use edible treats. For example, in the past, students have constructed solar ovens using materials of different heat absorbance and conductivity, then tested their ovens using chocolate and marshmallows. We have also lead environmental engineering workshops during which students learned about the different layers of the earth using various treats such as crushed Oreos and gummy worms. The goal of our sweets focused event is to show students that engineering disciplines are both accessible and fun! Girls Engineering the Future ($3000) Girls Engineering the Future is an outreach event focused on encouraging high school girls to pursue education in STEM fields. The one-day event brings approximately thirty girls to campus from underserved schools in the local area. In the morning, we invite a Stanford faculty speaker to welcome the girls to campus. Then, we divide into small groups for academic focused workshops for the morning. Last year, we had a financial 9

aid myth busting workshop and an introduction to engineering disciplines workshop. After lunch with SWE members, students participate in hands-on engineering workshops to better understand the applications of the different engineering fields discussed during the morning. Some workshops included a Karel (computer science) workshop, a DNA sequencing (bioengineering) workshop, and a bridge building (civil engineering) workshop. Engineering to Infinity and Beyond ($3000) Our new, aerospace and astronautics themed middle school outreach event was introduced last year and proved to be a great success! For our largest middle school outreach event, we invited approximately fifty girls to Stanford s campus for a day of fun engineering workshops and interaction with female Stanford engineers. The outreach team worked to incorporate various levels of aerospace and astronautics into the day s activities. The girls gained a hands-on understanding of the field through lab tours, student group-led demonstrations, and workshops with baking soda and vinegar rockets. They also took part in discussions, such as design thinking a Lego rover, to critically think about the concepts introduced through our workshops. We also invited Stanford faculty and student groups to speak about their experiences in the field. 10
