2 Welcome, everyone Introduction We extend a warm welcome to all students who have just joined us. Please take a few moments to read this leaflet, which is designed to help you over the next few days. The Business School The School is the university s largest, with over 4,000 students and about 150 academic staff. We are based in Queen Anne Court, one of the three baroque university buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the late 17th century. Greenwich Campus is part of a World Heritage Site. The neighbouring building, Queen Mary Court, houses the Student Centre, which gives advice and help. Among the many places to buy food and drink on and near the campus is a café near the southern entrance to Queen Anne Court. In the Cooper Building, next to the southwestern corner of the campus, is the Students Union. Bar Latitude has bright, modern décor and offers hot and cold food. The Dreadnought Library, just west of King William Court, has an extensive collection of books and journals, as well as language laboratories, computing facilities and a bookshop. Orientation At today s welcome presentation, you will be divided into tutorial groups. Your group number determines the time and location of orientation activities. Finding your way around The first digit of a room number refers to the floor. Room 068, for instance, is on the ground floor and room 315 is on the third floor.
