1 The Registrar s Office would like to officially welcome you to campus! We are located on the second floor of the Welcome center, Room 224, next to student accounts. REGISTRAR S OFFICE SERVICES We maintain student records, record grades, provide transcripts, answer residency questions, certify students for veterans benefits, reset PIN numbers for E Z Arts, provide enrollment verifications, and process all aspects of graduation. In addition, we oversee online registration and we work with the Art Schools and the Division of Liberal Arts on scheduling. E Z ARTS STUDENT SERVICES E Z Arts is UNCSA s online information and technology resource where students can check their personal information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.), view class schedules, track degree information, register for classes, check withdrawal limit status, apply for graduation, view grades and more. E Z Arts link: ART SCHOOL CHECK IN This is a reminder that you will need to check in at your Art Schools on Friday, August 21, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and noon. LATE REGISTRATION AND ADD/DROP Online registration is open for schedule additions or changes at this time. The last day to make changes during add/drop is Friday, August 28. If you have not added your Liberal Arts classes for the fall, please contact Mary Taylor in the Division of Liberal Arts: (336) Important note: you must

2 register for all of your required classes. Students may not register for more than 18 credits unless permission has been given by your Deans. Add/drop will end on Friday, August 28 at 5:00 p.m. No schedule changes can occur after this time unless authorized by the Dean of your Art School. Beginning August 29, students must officially withdraw from a class by submitting paperwork. If you need your PIN reset, stop in or send an through your artist account to have your PIN reset. CONFIRM YOUR PERMANENT ADDRESS Students can change any of their addresses, emergency contacts and phone numbers with the exception of a permanent address and phone number in E Z Arts. For campus security reasons, it is important to visit E Z Arts to verify that your permanent contact information is up to date. Please log into E Z Arts, click the link to enter the secure area, then click on the personal information tab to check the addresses and emergency contacts listed for you. Please correct and/or add contacts and addresses you have access to change. If your permanent contact information needs to be updates, a member of the registrar s office will need to make those changes for you. For permanent contact information changes, you may come in to the registrar s office to fill out a form, or you can the changes from your artist account to us at [email protected]. You will receive a confirmation once the changes are made. LIMIT ON WITHDRAWALS The period to withdraw from classes with a grade of W begins August 29. Students may withdraw from no more than 16 credits over the course of their degree(s). To see your credit withdrawal status, please log into the secure area of E Z Arts and click on the registration tab:

3 HOLDS AND CLASS ATTENDANCE Students must satisfy their account holds prior to attending classes. You can view your holds as well as the department that placed the hold in E Z Arts by logging into the secure area and clicking on the Student Tab (Note: the mail box hold is only there to provide you with your box number and combination): Your Art School will also be able to let you know if you have a hold. Please do not attend classes until you have taken care of your holds. 4 INFORMATION FOR VETERANS AND MILITARY AFFILIATED STUDENTS In addition to the information available at this link, you may contact the Registrar s Office with any questions you might need answered: YOUR RIGHTS AS A STUDENT Annually, students are sent information to their Artist explaining the privacy rights of students. This information is also available on our website at the following link: IN STATE RESIDENCY FOR TUITION PURPOSES True North Carolina permanent residents are afforded a reduction in tuition. In a nutshell, students and parents who support the State of North Carolina by establishing a permanent abode in and paying NC taxes qualify. If you decide to make North Carolina your permanent home, you must physically be in the State for a continuous 365 day qualifying period. It is not enough to move to this state incident of becoming a student here. Students who have made their permanent home North Carolina can apply for residency. Please read the documentation requirements closely. In most cases, license and state and local taxes are required to be submitted with your application. All documentation is due by the first day of classes; however, if it is determined that additional information is needed, you will be contacted and may be given an extension to gather the information. No information can be provided after the 10 th day of classes for any reason. Students who miss the deadline may apply in a following semester. Deadlines for application and materials: Fall consideration, applications accepted July 1 through the 1 st day of Fall classes. Spring consideration, applications accepted November 1 through the 1st day of Spring classes. For Summer consideration, applications accepted May 1 through the 1 st day of summer classes.
