We re confident you ll agree provides excellent strength and performance. Twist it Kick it Stab it Scrub it Freeze it Twist it Use a pair of pliers to twist samples of roofing products. Asphalt-coated fiberglass will tear easily. Inferior asphalt-coated modified fiberglass will stretch and then tear. But products will withstand your worst abuse. Kick it Test elasticity and elongation by digging your heel into the roofing membranes, as if you were preparing to placekick a football. When done on an product, the heel mark should rebound and become nearly invisible. These first two tests (Twist it and Kick it) represent load-strain product and stands up to the test. Stab it Use one of the blunt-ended tools on your pocketknife and try to puncture roofing samples. Inferior products will puncture and crack. But the unsurpassed strength of the polyester mat allows membranes to demonstrate a much higher puncture resistance. Scrub it Granule adherence is essential in protecting the asphalt from breakdown caused by ultraviolet rays. Try to scrub off granules from products and various competitive roofing samples. membranes have excellent granule adhesion. Freeze it Freeze samples of products and competitive SBS-modified products at 0 F for 4 hours. Grip each sample with pliers and bend. Poorly blended modified products will crack or snap due to the extreme cold. But membranes have the flexibility to withstand the coldweather test to at least -15 F without cracking or breaking.
