1 ROOF CONSTRUCTION SCIENCE (METCT092) This training program is intended for applicators that are interested in gaining an understanding of the various technologies incorporated in roof systems, including different types of roof membrane applications, different insulation systems and numerous application methodologies available. None open discussion. In addition, the course will give participants an opportunity to watch demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of insulation. 2-3 hours Multiple-choice test. In addition, participants must be able to demonstrate competency in insulation installation methodology. Participants will be able to identify common roof decks upon which roof systems are installed; including steel deck, structural concrete, wood-based products, lightweight insulating concrete and cementious wood fiber. Participants will be able to identify common insulation systems used in roof construction, including polyisocyanurate, perlite, wood fiber, gypsum board and asphaltic cover board. Participants will be able to identify common insulation attachment methods. Participants will be able to identify modified bitumen and single ply roofs.
2 SBS-MODIFIED HEAT WELDED MEMBRANE SYSTEMS (METCT100) This training program is intended for applicators that install heat welded SBS-modified roof systems. It will give applicators who have practical experience, but have not received formal training, the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base and support the skills they have acquired on the work site. Successful completion of Roof Construction Science (METCT092) is required. demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of heat welded roof systems. in heat welded installation methodology. Participants will be able to identify various characteristics of elastomeric bitumen membranes preparations appropriate to the installation of heat welded membrane systems Participants will be able to waterproof standard surfaces with heat-applied elastomeric membranes using a propane torch Participants will be able to waterproof various details and flashing elements with heat welded elastomeric membranes using a propane torch Participants will have an understanding of torch safety.
3 SBS-MODIFIED COLD ADHESIVE-APPLIED MEMBRANE SYSTEMS (METCT102) This training program is intended for applicators that install cold adhesive-applied SBSmodified roof systems. It will give applicators who have practical experience, but who have not received formal training, the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base and support the skills they have acquired on the work site. Successful completion of Roof Construction Science (METCT092) is required. demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of cold adhesive-applied roof systems. in cold adhesive-applied installation methodology. Participants will be able to identify various characteristics of elastomeric bitumen membranes preparations appropriate to the installation of cold adhesive-applied membrane systems Participants will be able to identify the different types of cold adhesive products available Participants will be able to waterproof standard surfaces with cold adhesiveapplied elastomeric membranes using adhesive Participants will be able to waterproof various details and flashing elements with cold adhesive-applied elastomeric membranes using adhesive
4 SBS-MODIFIED MECHANICALLY FASTENED MEMBRANE SYSTEMS (METCT104) This training program is intended for applicators that install mechanically fastened SBSmodified roof systems. It will give applicators who have practical experience, but who have not received formal training, the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base and support the skills they have acquired on the work site. Successful completion of SBS-Modified Heat-Applied Membrane Systems (METCT100) and SBS-Modified Cold Adhesive-Applied Membrane Systems (METCT102) is required. demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of mechanically fastened roof systems. 2-3 hours Multiple-choice test. In addition, participants must be able to demonstrate competency in mechanically attached installation methodology Participants will be able to identify various characteristics of elastomeric bitumen membranes Participants will be able to install a mechanically fastened modified bitumen roof system, understanding the importance of following proper fastening pattern protocols, including prescriptive enhancement situations.
5 LIQUID FLASHING SYSTEMS (METCT107) This training program is intended for applicators that install liquid applied flashing applications. It will give applicators who have practical experience, but who have not received formal training, the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base and support the skills they have acquired on the work site. Successful completion of Roof Construction Science (METCT092) is required. demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of liquid applied flashing systems. in liquid applied flashing installation methodology. Participants will be able to identify various characteristics of liquid applied flashing systems preparations appropriate to the installation of liquid applied flashing systems Participants will be able to waterproof various details and flashing elements with liquid applied flashing applications
6 PVC ADHERED MEMBRANE ROOF SYSTEMS (METCT120) This training program is intended for applicators that install adhered PVC roof systems. It will give applicators who have practical experience, but who have not received formal training, the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base and support the skills they have acquired on the work site. None demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of adhered PVC roof systems. in PVC installation methodology. Participants will be able to identify various characteristics of PVC membranes preparations appropriate to the installation of PVC membrane systems Participants will be able to waterproof standard surfaces with PVC membranes Participants will be able to waterproof various details via heat-welded prefabricated flashing element Participants will have an understanding of the adhesive options available for PVC roof system applications
7 PVC MECHANICALLY FASTENED MEMBRANE ROOF SYSTEMS (METCT121) This training program is intended for applicators that install mechanically fastened PVC roof systems. It will give applicators who have practical experience, but who have not received formal training, the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge base and support the skills they have acquired on the work site. None demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of mechanically PVC roof systems. in PVC installation methodology. None demonstrations and participate in workshops for the installation of PMMA liquid applied roof systems. in PMMA liquid applied installation methodology. Participants will be able to identify various characteristics of PMMA liquid applied systems, including catalyst activation rules and pot life limitations preparations appropriate to the installation of PMMA liquid applied roof systems Participants will be able to waterproof standard surfaces with PMMA liquid applied systems Participants will be able to waterproof various details and flashing elements with PMMA liquid applied systems
