Develop mission and vision and objectives for obstetric unit. Develop Implement Review obstetric policies and procedures. Participate in Perinatal Mortality review meeting. Know South African Nursing Council rules and regulations pertaining to obstetrics. Develop and implement in-service education and quality improvement programs. Act as an Advocate for client utilizing Batho Pele principles. Form part of the multi-disciplinary team Take part in all obstetrics program i.e. PMTCT, BMFI and RHC reproductive health. Identify training needs for the personnel and implement EPMDS for the personnel. Practice participative management by assisting with relief duties of the supervisor.
