I IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA ODE AS A NEW HAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFETIVE JULY 1, 2012]: hater 7. Militar Educatin Sec. 1. As used in this chater, "militar service" means service erfrmed while an active member f an f the fllwing: (1) The armed frces f the United States. (2) A reserve cmnent f the armed frces f the United States. (3) The Natinal Guard. Sec. 2. Each state educatinal institutin shall adt a lic t award educatinal credit t an individual wh: (1) is enrlled in a state educatinal institutin; and (2) successfull cmletes curses that: (A) are art f the individual's militar service; (B) meet the standards f the American uncil n Educatin, r the cuncil's successr rganizatin, fr awarding academic credit; and () meet the state educatinal institutin's rle, sce, and missin. Sec. 3. The cmmissin fr higher educatin shall adt rules under I that establish unifrm guidelines fr state HEA 1116 ncur+

I IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA ODE AS A NEW HAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFETIVE JULY 1, 2012]: hater 17. Licensure f Individuals with Militar Training; Licensure f Militar Suses Sec. 1. As used in this chater, "bard" has the meaning set frth in I Sec. 2. As used in this chater, "militar service" means service erfrmed while an active member f an f the fllwing: (1) The armed frces f the United States. (2) A reserve cmnent f the armed frces f the United States. (3) The Natinal Guard. Sec. 3. As used in this chater, "militar suse" means the husband r wife f an individual wh is a member f the armed frces f the United States. Sec. 4. Ntwithstanding an ther law, a bard shall issue a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit t a militar service alicant t allw the alicant t ractice the alicant's ccuatin in Indiana if, un alicatin t a licensing bard, the alicant satisfies the fllwing cnditins: (1) Has: (A) cmleted a militar rgram f training; (B) been awarded a militar ccuatinal secialt; and () erfrmed in that ccuatinal secialt; at a level that is substantiall equivalent t r exceeds the academic r exerience requirements fr a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit f the bard frm which the alicant is seeking licensure, certificatin, registratin, r a ermit. (2) Has engaged in the active ractice f the ccuatin fr which the ersn is seeking a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit frm the bard fr at least tw (2) f the five (5) ears receding the date f the alicatin under this sectin. (3) Has nt cmmitted an act in an jurisdictin that wuld have cnstituted grunds fr refusal, susensin, r revcatin f a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit t ractice that ccuatin in Indiana at the time the act was cmmitted. (4) Pas the fees required b the bard frm which the alicant is seeking licensure, certificatin, registratin, r a HEA 1116 ncur+

Ntwithstanding an ther law, a bard shall issue a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit t a militar suse t allw the militar suse t ractice the militar suse's ccuatin in Indiana if, un alicatin t the bard, the militar suse satisfies the fllwing cnditins: (1) Hlds a current license, certificatin, registratin, r ermit frm anther jurisdictin, and that jurisdictin's requirements fr a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit are substantiall equivalent t r exceed the requirements fr a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit f the bard frm which the alicant is seeking licensure, certificatin, registratin, r a ermit. (2) an demnstrate cmetenc in the ccuatin thrugh methds as determined b the bard, including having cmleted cntinuing educatin units r having had recent exerience fr at least tw (2) f the five (5) ears receding the date f the alicatin under this sectin. (3) Has nt cmmitted an act in an jurisdictin that wuld have cnstituted grunds fr refusal, susensin, r revcatin f a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit t ractice that ccuatin in Indiana at the time the act was cmmitted. (4) Is in gd standing and has nt been discilined b the agenc that has jurisdictin t issue the license, certificatin, registratin, r ermit. (5) Pas an fees required b the ccuatinal licensing bard fr which the alicant is seeking licensure, certificatin, registratin, r a ermit. Sec. 6. (a) All relevant exerience f a: (1) militar service member in the discharge f fficial duties; r (2) militar suse, including full-time and art-time exerience, regardless f whether in a aid r vlunteer caacit; must be credited in the calculatin f ears f ractice in an ccuatin as required under sectin 4 r 5 f this chater. (b) In determining if a militar service member substantiall meets the academic requirements fr a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit issued b a bard, the bard shall cnsider the recmmendatins in the Guide t the Evaluatin f Educatinal Exeriences in the Armed Services ublished b the HEA 1116 ncur+

A nnresident wh is issued a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit under this chater is entitled t the same rights and subject t the same bligatins as required f a resident wh is issued a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit b a bard. Sec. 8. (a) Ntwithstanding an ther law, a bard ma issue a temrar ractice ermit r rvisinal license t a: (1) militar service alicant; r (2) militar suse wh is licensed, certified, registered, r issued a ermit in anther jurisdictin; while the militar service alicant r militar suse is satisfing certain requirements, as determined b the bard, fr a license, certificate, registratin, r ermit under sectin 4 r 5 f this chater. (b) The militar service alicant r militar suse ma ractice under the temrar ractice ermit r rvisinal license issued under subsectin (a) until: (1) a license, certificatin, registratin, r ermit is granted r denied b the bard; (2) a temrar ermit exires; r (3) a rvisinal license hlder fails t cml with the terms f the rvisinal license. Sec. 9. A bard ma adt rules under I necessar t imlement this chater. Sec. 10.
