2 Information Downe House LINES Haverford is LINES first centre in the USA. It is situated in Philadelphia, a city in the State of Pennsylvania. The school is located on the beautiful campus of Haverford College. The campus exists within secured grounds with private and controlled access. Haverford College is approx. 35 min from Philadelphia international airport and 20 min from Philadelphia city. Haverford College was ranked amongst the top 10 colleges in the USA by Forbes in LINES offers a personalised meet and greet service from and to the airport. LINES takes responsibility for the welfare of each student from arrival until departure. LINES offers a summer intensive English program at Haverford. The program accepts beginners to advanced levels. The age ranges from LINES Haverford has 2 main groups: Juniors and Seniors. LINES has an international mix of students. Emphasis is on complete immersion. The program is residential, all students and staff remain on campus.

4 Workshop Options Drama Everyday English Business English Exam Preparation Workshop Workshops are a very important part of the LINES experience. They provide an active learning environment where students can interact and communicate using the English language. Workshops provide an opportunity for each student to utilise all language acquisition skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). 2 x 45 min are dedicated to workshops per day. Students can choose between a number of workshops: Drama, Everyday English, Business English & Exam Preparation. Students must undergo their selected workshop for a minimum period of 1 week after which they can change. Students can choose their workshop when they arrive on site during the testing stage.

5 Downe House Excursions 2015 Excursions are not only an integral part of the academic program but they also add to the learning and cultural experiences of each student. Excursions are included in the weekly fee. 6 Downe House Activities & Pro Sport Activities LINES also runs its own activity program in the evening. Below are examples of the types of activities students will undertake during their stay. These activities are included in the weekly fee. Students must undergo their selected activity for a minimum of 1 week after which they can change. There must be a minimum of 4 students enrolled in order for the activity to take place. Students must select their pro activity for the first week of their stay during the enrolment stage. These activities are part of the academic timetable and are included in the weekly fee.
