56 HE TOKI KI TE RIKA He Toki ki te Rika This Māori Trade Training initiative is a collaborative project between CPIT, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Hawkins Construction, Te Tapuae o Rehua and is supported by Te Puni Kōkiri. This initiative aims to increase the participation of Māori in trade-based careers at all levels with free and appropriate trade training programmes suited to an individual and the community s needs. A Māori support team from the Centre for Māori and Pasifika Achievement at CPIT will mentor and support students throughout their training.
