They allow students to develop their language with the same enthusiasm that they have for football. The curriculum is designed so that students learn more effectively, as the subjects covered in the lessons are related to something they are already interested in: sport. At the start of each camp all students take a short language test which is used to place them in an appropriate class. At the end of the camp, students take home their workbook to show parents and friends what they have learnt. Each student receives an individual assessment from their tutor with advice on how to further develop their language skills. All the students should be able to see a clear improvement by the end of the camp. Manchester United Soccer Schools offer a truly international experience with players from over 70 different countries attending to enjoy a great opportunity and meet new friends. All activity is designed to match the developmental age of the participant. WORLD SKILLS FINAL Compete in one of our skills challenges held at every camp and you could be walking out in front of 76,000 fans at the World Skills Final at Old Trafford! Designed by the club s coaches and players, the challenges allow every player, regardless of age, to compete on level terms. One player from each camp will win a place at the World Skills Final, held in Manchester every year. We teach players how to build up a range of movements and techniques related to the Manchester United 1st team players. Coaching s have been designed to allow repetition of these fundamental actions in a fun and exciting way and to challenge and motivate players at all times. Whatever their level we help players to develop the courage and confidence to express their ability in games and an understanding of how to learn from their mistakes. 4 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS My is not very good. Is that OK? Some of our students have very limited language skills but still have a great time on our camps. The football coaches can easily demonstrate all of the skills, and our language teachers are trained to work with students from beginner right up to advanced level. In 2012 we hosted students from over 70 different nationalities all interacting together to improve their communication skills in. When students arrive at the camp they are given a short language test to determine their level and ability. Students are then put into small groups (maximum 16 per group) according to their ability. This enables our staff to adapt the curriculum and the lessons to suit the ability of all the students in the class. Will my child get spotted by Manchester United and become a Manchester United player? The main objective of every Manchester United Soccer Schools camp is that all players achieve success regardless of ability. Camps are not specifically designed as talent identification camps. However, we are confident that every player will leave with the knowledge and skills to become a better player. Will I meet any Manchester United players? Unfortunately not! Manchester United players do not attend these camps. But if your camp dates coincide with a Manchester United match, we will always try to arrange for the group to attend. Also, you could win the Skills Test and have the opportunity to play at Old Trafford on the day of a Premiership match! The Manchester United Soccer Schools coaches are not only UEFA-qualified but they are also highly experienced at coaching children from different nationalities. They are able to get the best out of all the players. Participants should expect an intensive camp that will improve their football skills. For the football s, students are grouped according to their age group. Can I stay for more than 2 weeks? Each camp lasts 2 weeks, so if students would like to stay for longer, they can book two successive camps and stay for a total of 4 weeks.
