4 INTERNATIONAL SUMMER LANGUAGE SCHOOL (ISLS) One of the University s major international events is the three-week Summer Language School which has been held every July since This event is attended by participants not only from the Czech Republic but from virtually every corner of the world. In a truly international setting, it offers informal language courses in: Czech for foreigners, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish at beginner to advanced levels. Besides general language courses, there are specialized courses, e.g. TEFL course, a Legal English course or courses for children. The ISLS provides an exceptional opportunity to combine high-quality language instruction with a lifetime of experience. A friendly international atmosphere promotes not only students progress in language studies but also intercultural and international contacts in the spirit of tolerance and forms long-lasting friendships.
