Our junior course is held in the beautiful campus of Wychwood Girls Boarding School, which was established in This secure campus contains residential accommodation, classrooms and sports facilities, and is situated on Banbury road very close to heart of Oxford and University Colleges. Small classes and a personalised learning experience enable students to gain the maximum reward from their education in the United Kingdom. 3 Course Structure English Class: 21 Hours Per Week General English: The course includes 15 hours of General English that covers all aspects of the language. Price includes course materials. Skills Classes: There are 6 hours of additional skills classes that work intensively on individual language skills. These include Vocabulary, Conversation & Pronunciation, Grammar and Reading. The classes are designed to provide students with a greater understanding of English. Accommodation: Residence: Wychwood offers all students large, secure, residential rooms located on-site. Each student is placed into a room with 1-3 other pupils. We endeavour to place students in mix-nationality rooms. All rooms are wellequipped with wardrobes, desks and chairs. The bathroom facilities are shared, with a bathroom for every 6 students. Members of staff are located throughout the residence to ensure a safe environment as well as providing an emergency point of contact. Food: All meals are included, with hot lunch and dinner. 4 Course Structure Activities & Excursions Activities: Thanks to our close proximity to the centre of Oxford our students have plenty of opportunities to explore the historic sight and famous buildings of the city under the supervision of our activity co-ordinators. Sports facilities at Wychwood also allow students to enjoy outdoor pastimes such as Tennis. Excursions: With two off-campus excursions per week, students have the chance to discover the cultural heritage of not only Oxford but also the surrounding area. Members of staff will ensure students are engaged with each excursion and understand the significance of each location. 6 Course Structure English Class: 21 Hours Per Week General English: The course includes 15 hours of General English that covers all aspects of the language. Each student receives course materials. Electives: There are 3 Hours of a chosen elective (Conversation, Grammar, Reading & Writing) allowing students the flexibility to choose their areas of study. These electives are chosen at the start of the week. Project Work: Finally there are 3 hours of project work in which students use their English to work on themes such as Shakespeare, Fashion, T-shirt design leading to a final presentation at the end of the week. Accommodation: Residence: Each student has their own room with a single bed and private bathroom with shower. These rooms are situated in a secure building with members of our staff located on each floor for security and in case of emergency. Bed linen and towels and changed on a weekly basis and laundry facilities are available at a small extra cost. Homestay: Homestay is available upon request, however there is limited availability. All our host families are located within close distance to our campus and will drop off / pick up the students. Please contact us for further information on homestay availability. These give students the opportunity to consolidate what they have learnt in class, while also having fun and enjoying time with their new friends. Afternoon and evening activities include dance & drama workshops, quiz nights, sport competitions and disco or karaoke evenings. Excursions: Students participate in one half day and one full day excursion per week. Student are guided by informative staff-members and are given activities to make sure they are improving their English while they experience the hear of England. All flight arrivals and departures must be between 07:00 & 21:00., for flights outside these time there will be a 30 surcharge. Occasionally students may be grouped together for transfers during busy times. Flight details must be provided to Oxford House College no later than 14 days prior to arrival, there is no refund for transfers if students miss their flight or fail to inform the school. Unaccompanied Minors: There is a 50 fee for students travelling as unaccompanied minor with airlines. The name of driver will be provided for arriving students, whilst departing students will be handed over to airline staff and taken to passport control. This fee is per return transfer.
