Km Leghton s the dean of educatonal technology at BryanLGH College of Health Scences. She coordnates use of hgh fdelty smulaton, collaboratng wth nursng, nurse anesthesa, and health professons faculty to ntegrate smulaton throughout the currculum. She also asssts nurse managers from the medcal center to create smulated learnng opportuntes for new graduates, new hres, seasoned nurses and annual competency assessments. Dr. Leghton s also adjunct faculty for Medcal Educaton Technologes, Inc. (METI). She provdes consultaton wth nursng schools n the US and Canada on currculum ntegraton of smulaton utlzng the program for Nursng Currculum Integraton, a product she helped to develop whle workng as a full-tme clncal educator for METI. Dr. Leghton works on a varety of projects related to onlne smulaton and sklls development, and s a research consultant on varous grants. She recently receved an award from the Socety for Smulaton n Healthcare (SSH) for her hard work on brdgng the gap among organzatons. As presdent of the Internatonal Nursng Assocaton for Clncal Smulaton Learnng (INACSL), she facltates organzatons, such as INACSL and SSH to work together along wth facltatng nternatonal partnerng. Dr. Leghton s nterests le n mprovng the smulaton envronment to meet the learnng needs of undergraduate nursng students, wth a strong emphass on mprovng sklls of the facltator. She teaches three graduate courses that make up the onlne Certfcate n Smulaton Educaton program. She completed her educaton at the Unversty of Nebraska Medcal Center, Nebraska Wesleyan Unversty, and the Unversty of Nebraska-Lncoln, where she obtaned her PhD n Educatonal Leadershp n Hgher Educaton. Bauman, PhD, RN, Paramedc Clncal Playground, LLC Mddleton, WI Dr. Bauman receved hs PhD from the Unversty of Wsconsn-Madson School of Educaton, Department of Currculum and Instructon n He was one of the early Games+Learnng+Socety students and was advsed by professors Betty Hayes and Kurt Squre, both renowned scholars n the game-based learnng movement. Dr. Bauman s an RN, frefghter and paramedc wth more than 20 years of clncal, research, and teachng experence who recently held a faculty assocate appontment n the Department of Anesthesology at the Unversty of Wsconsn Madson, before startng Clncal Playground LLC, a consultng servce focusng on game and smulaton-based learnng. Sesson #2: Standardzed Patents: The Hghest Level of Fdelty Rhonda Sparks, MD OU Clncal Sklls Educaton and Testng Center Oklahoma Cty, OK Dr. Sparks s the medcal drector of the Shela M. Crow and Rchard D. Husband Clncal Sklls Educaton and Testng Center (CSETC). Her efforts are concentrated on provdng medcal students wth nnovatve and hghly nstructonal patent contact experences durng ther frst two years of medcal school to prepare them for clncal rotatons, resdency and clncal practce. Dr. Sparks has ntated ntensve tranng and feedback programs to ensure that the standardzed patent experence matches as closely as possble, the experence medcal students, resdents and practcng physcans wll face durng ther medcal career. Sesson #3: Smulaton Collaboraton n Educaton W. Stephen Eddy, DO, MPH OSU Center for Health Scence, College of Osteopathc Medcne Tulsa, OK Snce 2005, Dr. Eddy has dlgently served as the drector of contnung medcal educaton at the Oklahoma State Unversty Center for Health Scence (OSUCHS) n the College of Osteopathc Medcne. He s board certfed n famly medcne and serves as a professor of famly medcne for the department of famly medcne at OSUCHS. Dr. Eddy s expertse ncludes the area of clncal sklls, wth 27 years of experence establshed from the varous roles of beng a coordnator, lecturer and lab nstructor. Ann Robnson, BS, RMA, RPbt, LPN Tulsa Technology Health Scences Center Tulsa, OK Workng as a laboratory coordnator for Tulsa Technology Health Scences Center, Ms. Robnson has a health scences background wth 19 years of experence wth patents, students and health care provders through hands-on nvolvement n educatonal programs and drect patent care. She coordnates clncal labs, whch contrbutes to teachng students n 13 dfferent health-related occupatons. Ms. Robnson s also nvolved n the development and admnstraton of laboratory experences and clncal practcal exams usng a wde varety of delvery systems ncludng smulaton technology and e-learnng systems. Sesson #4: Inter-Professonal Collaboraton Through Technology Mary Z. Mays, PhD Brandman Unversty Irvne, CA Dr. Mays s the assocate dean of the School of Nursng and Health Professons at Brandman Unversty and the drector of the Innovaton Insttute for the Health Professons. She s a psychologst and bostatstcan wth 30 years experence n federally funded research and development programs as well as teachng n medcne, nursng, and alled health scences. She has broad experence n the basc scences and appled clncal research and a specal nterest n moble technology and health promoton nterventons. Sesson #5: Attenton to Detal n Smulaton and Sesson #6: Integratd Team Smulaton Tranng Beyond Boundares Pony Anderson, AS, NREMT-P Aurora Communty College, Center for Smulaton & Dsaster Management Insttute Denver, CO Pony Anderson s the Smulaton Coordnator for the Center for Smulaton (CFS) and Dsaster Management Insttute of Colorado (DMI) at the Communty College of Aurora. Wth a background as a frefghter and paramedc she s one of the foundng poneers for the CFS whch s recognzed as a frontrunner n smulaton for emergency medcal tranng and the DMI for ts efforts n multdscplnary smulaton tranng n preparng for major dsasters. She has vson, enthusasm and dedcaton, coupled wth a hands on approach and practcal experence whch has made the colleges smulaton tranng realstc and educatonal. Ms. Anderson s recognzed as a thought leader n the naton for smulaton preparedness.
