A cdate may obtan ether degree both. 1.2 On satsfyng the admsson requrements f entry to undergraduate studes n the Busness School, students wll enrol n a program of study to allow them to qualfy f one of the followng degrees: Degree of Bachel of Commerce Degree of Bachel of Commerce (Accountng) Degree of Bachel of Commerce (Cpate Fnance) Degree of Bachel of Commerce (Internatonal Busness) Degree of Bachel of Commerce (Management) Degree of Bachel of Commerce (Marketng) 1.3 A cdate may not hold two concurrent places n the Bachel of Commerce degree. After completon of ther frst Bachel of Commerce degree n a partcular specalsaton, a cdate may apply f a further place n the Bachel of Commerce degree n a dfferent specalsaton. Students enterng the Bachel of Commerce f a second tme may be granted status up to a maxmum of 48 unts. 2 Duraton of program The program f the Bachel degrees shall extend over three years of full-tme study the parttme equvalent. 3 Assessment examnatons 3.1 A cdate f the Bachel degree shall attend lectures pass examnatons n accdance wth the Academc Program Rules. 3.2 A cdate shall not be elgble to attend f examnaton unless the prescrbed wk has been completed to the satsfacton of the teachng staff concerned. A cdate who s not elgble to attend f examnaton shall be deemed to have faled the examnaton. 3.3 In determnng a cdate s fnal result n a course ( part of a course) the examners may take nto account al, wrtten, practcal examnaton wk, provded that the cdate has been gven adequate notce at the commencement of the teachng of the course of the way n whch wk wll be taken nto account of ts relatve mptance n the fnal result. 3.4 There shall be four classfcatons of pass n each course f the Bachel degree, as follows: Pass wth Hgh Dstncton, Pass wth Dstncton, Pass wth Credt, Pass. 3.5 A cdate who fals a course who desres to take that course agan shall, unless exempted wholly partally there from by the Head of the School concerned, agan complete the requred wk n that course to the satsfacton of the teachng staff concerned. 3.6 A cdate who has twce faled the examnaton n any course f the Bachel degree may not enrol f that course agan f any other course whch n the opnon of the School contans a substantal amount of the same materal, except by permsson of the School then only under such condtons as the School may prescrbe. 3.7 Academc Progress

2 The Faculty may prescrbe rules f revew of academc progress. Any student who meets the requrements f revew wll be asked to show cause as to why they should be permtted to contnue ther studes. 4 MARKETNG 3503 Marketng Strategy Project III addtonal Level III Marketng courses from below to the value of 6 unts, such courses as approved by the Head of the Busness School. 4.7 All degrees In determnng a cdate s elgblty f the award of the degree, the School may dsallow any course passed me than 10 years prevously Cdates who have completed courses f the degree under prevous Academc Program Rule schedules may contnue under the schedules then n fce, wth such modfcatons (f any) as shall be prescrbed by the Head A cdate may not count f the degree any course together wth any other course whch, n the opnon of the School, contans a substantal amount of the same materal no course may be counted twce towards the degree To qualfy f an undergraduate degree n the Busness School a student who has transferred nto Commerce from another degree program from another unversty may be granted up to 36 unts of status f courses completed pr to the transfer must satsfy all condtons n 4.1 above must pass at least 36 unts of courses approved by the Unversty of Adelade. These must nclude 12 unts of Level III Commerce courses. However, ths requrement may be waved n specal crcumstances approved by the Busness School A cdate f an undergraduate degree n the Busness School at the Unversty of Adelade, who wshes to undertake courses elsewhere towards that degree, must satsfy all condtons n above present courses not taught at the Unversty of Adelade havng a maxmum value of 24 unts. Cdates must prearrange f the proposed scheme of study to be approved n advance by the School. However, ths requrement may be waved n specal crcumstances approved by the Busness School a Graduates of the Unversty of Adelade (except those specfed n 4.7.6(b) below) of other nsttutons, who wsh to proceed to an undergraduate degree n the Busness School to count towards that degree courses whch they have already presented f another qualfcaton may be permtted to do so subject to the followng condtons: they may present f the degree such courses to a maxmum aggregate value of 36 unts. The School may permt a cdate to spread the wk over two years, but not me, under such condtons as t may determne A cdate who s unable to complete the program f the Honours degree wthn the tme allowed, whose wk s unsatsfacty at any stage of the program, who wthdraws from the program shall be repted to the School, whch may permt re-enrolment f an Honours degree under such condtons (f any) as t may determne. 4.9 Graduaton Subject to Chapter 89 of the Statutes, cdates who have satsfed the requrements f any award of the Unversty shall be admtted to that award. 5 Specal crcumstances When n the opnon of the relevant Faculty specal crcumstances exst, the Councl, on the recommendaton of the Faculty n each case, may vary any of the provsons of the Academc Program Rules f any partcular award. Notes (not fmng part of the Academc Program Rules) 1 Students are advsed that a knowledge of Mathematcs s helpful f Commerce courses s assumed knowledge f some Cpate Fnance courses. 2 Studes n Law wthn the degree of Bachel of Commerce 1 See the Academc Program Rules of the LL.B. degree the Introducty Notes to the LL.B. Syllabuses. 2 Cdates who wsh to present f the Bachel of Commerce degree Law courses passed pr to 1999 should apply n wrtng to have ther poston determned by the Busness School. Such cdates wll not be dsadvantaged by the transton. 3 Students from other Facultes wll be consdered f elgblty f the Bachel of Commerce degree n accdance wth the Regulatons Academc Program Rules of the Bachel of Commerce degree whch are applcable n the year n whch the student frst enrols n a course offered by the Economcs Busness Schools. 4 Cdates may enrol f the degree of Bachel of Commerce concurrently wth one of the degrees Bachel of Arts, Bachel of Busness Infmaton Technology, Bachel of Computer Scence, Bachel of Desgn Studes, Bachel of Economcs, Bachel of Engneerng (Telecommuncatons), Bachel of Fnance, Bachel of Mathematcal Computer Scences, Bachel of Meda, Bachel of Socal Scence, Bachel of Internatonal Studes Bachel of Wne Marketng. Cdates already enrolled n the B.Com. wshng to proceed to one of these other degrees concurrently, may apply towards the end of ther frst year f admsson to the second degree n the followng year. 1 The combned degrees (apart from B.Com/BE(IT&T) may be completed n a mnmum of four years of fulltme study provded approprate courses are selected. Cdates should seek program advce regardng course choce. 2 Cdates must complete all of the requrements f the Bachel of Commerce, together wth the followng mnmum requrements f the other degree: Cdates must complete the compulsy courses f that degree Cdates must complete all of the Level III requrements n accdance wth the Academc Program Rules f that degree. Courses presented to complete the Level III requrements f the other degree must nclude at least 24 unts, whch have not been presented to the Bachel of Commerce degree. 3 Cdates should note that an enrolment n courses exceedng a total unts value of 24 unts per year wll result n a program overload. Cdates should be aware of the full mplcatons of ther choce to take a program overload.
