3 COURSE OVERVIEW This live CME activity is designed for family physicians, internal medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and athletic trainers. The intended result of this activity is to provide current and state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment for patients with hip and knee conditions to improve patient outcomes by providing contemporary and innovative strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee disease. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: 1. Identify the most common etiologies of pre-arthritic, arthritic and tumorous conditions about the hip and knee. 2. Review the history, physical exam and radiographic evaluation of patients with hip and knee disorders including bone tumors. 3. Discuss the latest surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities for a variety of hip and knee conditions. 4. Explain strategies for optimizing the perioperative care of patients undergoing hip and knee surgical treatments.
