2 Course Description This course will examine the unique health care needs of children who have cerebral palsy or related conditions. We will present current evaluation and intervention strategies as well as treatment modalities to maximize function and long-term outcomes. We will also focus on sleep issues in children with cerebral palsy and neuromuscular conditions and discuss how to assess and manage pain in children with special needs. Course Objectives At the completion of the course, participants should be able to: Describe how cerebral palsy is assessed and treatment recommendations are made Identify when pain in children needs intervention Define common sleep patterns and effective interventions for children Accreditation is accredited by the Minnesota Medical Association to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians.
