15 Piteå is an extremely low risk location: No natural disasters with casualties ever recorded. Very few lightning's per year in the North of Sweden. Stable bedrock, no volcanos, etc. Piteå has no risk of flooding due to dam ruptures as the Piteå river has no major dams. It is one of only four state protected rivers in Sweden. The others provide a theoretical flooding risk. Piteå is connected to a meshed regional grid with power from both Luleå and Skellefteå rivers, providing a near total safety.
