7 Exam Application Process Read the 2007 HRCI California Certification Exam handbook thoroughly (available online or by request) Visit for application materials Pay attention to the deadlines: April 22 Exam: Deadline is March 23 (Apr 6 late deadline) June 24 Exam: Deadline is May 23 (Jun 8 late deadline) December Window: Deadline is October 12 (Nov 16 late deadline) Schedule your appointment early Exam Application Process 7

8 Exam Preparation Read the body of knowledge (test specifications) Decide on your personal study style: Self-study--California Learning System, California employment law reference books, etc. Study groups chapters, employer groups, etc. Preparation classes universities, SHRM, etc. HRCI does not endorse any particular preparation programs and multiple resources should be used when preparing for this exam. After the Exam Immediate pass/fail status will not be available for paper/pencil testing. Detailed exam results will be mailed to your home address within three weeks of testing. If you pass, your certificate and pin will arrive with your score report. If you don t pass, your results will show you how you did by functional area. 8

13 Submit Payment Online Approved Provider/Approved for Credit Programs Approved for Credit Program: Hosts of HR-related continuing education activities can submit individual HR-related education activities for pre-approval toward recertification credit. Approved Provider Program: Providers of multiple HR-related continuing education activities are approved for 3 years. Recertification credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis for time spent in the educational activity. 13
