1 SAN JACINTO COLLEGE JOB ESCRIPTION TITLE: EPARTMENT: SECURITY SENSITIVE: FLSA STATUS 1 : irector, Organizational evelopment Human Resources No Exempt GRAE: 34 FUNCTION: This position plans and implements all aspects of major organizational development initiatives including change management, process enhancements, organizational assessment and design, culture transformation, team development, and succession planning. The position is responsible for developing and implementing effective organizational interventions utilizing a variety of resources to create a culture and structure that meets the College s goals and objectives. This position encompasses great diversity of job activities and requires depth and breadth of organizational development skills and experience. CURRENT INCUMBENT(S): REPORTS TO: SUPERVISES: Vice President, Organizational evelopment Coordinator, Organizational evelopment and Performance Management MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES: Essential Job Functions 2, W, M, Q, A 3 %Time 1. Conduct organizational analyses and evaluation of organizational wellness, culture, and change readiness. Q 5% 2. Provide consulting and facilitation for business process mapping and process improvement, team building, and change management to enhance organizational effectiveness; create strategies and plans to execute and monitor the progress of the 33% 1 A, B, CAFÉ, CHIL, IA and IB bands are Non-exempt, all other bands are Exempt 2 All job functions MUST add up to 100% 3 =daily, W=Weekly, M=monthly, Q=quarterly & A=annually

2 organizational initiatives; identify potential barriers to change; coach leaders in implementing changes. 3. Provide leadership and oversight for the execution of the performance management process; Implement enhancements to ensure current best practices are in place; Lead validation and secondary review 4. In conjunction with the Leadership evelopment and Training Manager, design and implement team development training programs. 5. Create competencies and career pathing for key positions and top talent in support of succession planning; Participate in establishing succession plans for key College positions. 6. Chartering and facilitating a variety of councils, committees, and task forces to accomplish defined objectives. 7. Identify and implement key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of O initiatives that support strategic goals. 8. Work with an integrated HR team to recommend comprehensive and integrated solutions to employee and organizational issues. 9. Evaluate O programs for efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with College priorities. 10. Assist in strategic planning that directly supports College objectives and priorities. Building and managing systematic change programs using a variety of strategic and change management tolls and models to achieve objectives. 2. Solid understanding of organizational development, change management, business process mapping, succession planning, and team development. 3. Experience in leading small to medium change initiatives. 4. emonstrated success in managing change. 5. Is both a strategic and systems thinker. 6. Strong consultant approach to client relationships. 7. Can anticipate workplace changes to respond proactively or modify plans accordingly. 8. Creative problem solver. 9. Effective and concise communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and concepts. 10. Ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels of the College. 11. Creative problem solver. 12. Team building skills. 13. Can use creativity and innovation to implement solutions to organizational needs. 14. Strong facilitation and coaching skills. 15. Ability to build and implement competency management processes for leadership development and career succession. Education and Experience: Required Education: Bachelor s degree in organizational development, human resources, business studies or organizational behavior/psychology required. Preferred Education: Master s degree in organizational development, human resources, business studies or organizational behavior/psychology preferred. Required Experience: Five to seven years of experience in at least three of the following areas: organizational development, business process mapping, change management, succession planning, and team development. Preferred Experience: Ten years of experience in all of the following areas: organizational development, business process mapping, change management,

4 leadership development, and team development. Experience in employee relations and experience in a higher education environment is highly desirable.
