9 SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS UNIVERSITY SERVICE o Business Teacher Education Program Coordinator at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore; Evaluate and advise students in majoring in Business Education ; University supervisor for Business Education field experiences. o Facilitated the University of Maryland Eastern Shore NCATE accreditation by collecting, analyzing, and reporting information demonstrating alignment of curriculum, clinical experiences, technology usage, instructional/assessment practices, and performance within the Business Education program. o Co-Authored the Middle States Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan for the Department of Business. o Chair of the Assurance of Learning Committee and responsible for coordinating the student learning outcomes assessment plan for the Department of Business, Management, and Accounting s application for accreditation by the American Association of Colleges and Schools of Business. o Create a variety of assessment regimes including: rubrics, web-based examinations, diagnostic tests, and electronic portfolios that have been implemented department-wide for use in assuring quality assessment and the collection of meaningful data on student learning outcomes and teaching effectiveness. o Provide instruction through didactic, coaching, and Socratic formats to students in higher education in both traditional and distance education environments in education, communications, and business curricula. o Share the responsibility for meeting and assessing the University-wide student technology competency. o Created and conducted professional development training for faculty in the creation and implementation of instructional technologies. o Authored numerous faculty and student manuals to support e-learning and electronic portfolios. o Developed a set of standards and guidelines as well as an evaluation rubric for assessing the quality and pedagogical effectiveness of fully online courses. o Develop project based learning initiatives including the creation of WebQuests and the integration of competitive computer simulations. o Integrate technology into instruction using the following strategies: o The use of Tk20, a web-based tool for k-12 learning communities and teacher education programs, for instructional design, course management, field experience information, and communication and resources. o The use of BlackBoard CE, a web-based course management tool, for creating online learning delivery contexts to provide students the opportunity for enhanced assessment, interaction, feedback and collaboration. o Facilitated the Blackboard Electronic Portfolio Pilot Project which involved the creation of a student capstone portfolio for students in the Department of Business Management and Accounting.

10 o Implementing the DBMA Senior Capstone Portfolio Project. o Design and/or implement online assessment measures and Web-based project-based learning initiatives. o Usage and development of the following tools to enhance teaching and learning: Second Life, Vokis, Voice Threads, WebQuests, Podcasts, Electronic Portfolios, Social Bookmarking Sites, Google Docs, Online Gradebooks, Discussions and Chats, PowerPoint Lectures, A Variety of E- Assessments, Weekly Annoucements, PDF Handbooks and Manuals, Tegrity Recordings, Digital Rubrics, Simulations, and Online Assessment Reports. o Provide academic advisement for students in the Department of Business, Management and Accounting to include Business Education majors at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. o Use a range of traditional, interactive, and emerging technology interventions for various program projects. o Developed strong knowledge base through critical analysis of instructional design models and the design process from needs assessment and goal definition through evaluation. o Through the Office of Instructional Technology, developed and managed a grant program that awarded money to faculty for the development of fully online learning experiences. o Created a conference organized by the Office of Instructional Technology and serve as the editor of the proceedings. o Edited and authored two books published in 2007, currently authoring a book chapter to be published in late 2008, as well as currently contributing to a book working being published in 2009, and preparing for a book to be published in early 2010 o Authored a number of book chapters o Maintain Graduate Faculty Status o Chair as well as serve on doctoral dissertation committees o Responsible for redesigning website for the UMES Department of Business, Management, and Accounting o Responsible for the design of a series of brochures for the UMES Department of Business, Management, and Accounting o Passed Microsoft Certification Exams to be a Certified Master Microsoft Office Specialist in both 2007 and 2003 versions of MS Office which included tests in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. o Developed a working database for the University Writing Center. o Selected to represent the University on the board of the NASULGC-Sloan National Commission on Online Learning Benchmarking Study and Faculty Survey o Developed a number of surveys to be administered both University and USM system-wide to faculty and/or students. o Brought student groups to the 2008 and 2007 Maryland Business Education Association annual conference and include students in my professional presentation.
