The population of Adams County has grown by more than 25 percent since As of the 2010 census, the population was 441,603. As impressive as this number is, future projections show the county s population nearly doubling to 700,000 over the next 10 years. As a result, the economic environment has also improved. The county ranges 1,182 sq. miles and is one of the fastest growing counties in the metro area while growing and expanding with new businesses. With the median age of Adams County residents being 32.4, there are plenty of things to do for all ages! Whether you enjoy golfing, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, nature viewing, the theater, museums or water sports, Adams County has something for everyone! Adams County s location is a short driving distance to National Parks and most attractions which makes escaping and get-away travel not only accessible but attainable! Denver, the Mile High City, located 5,280 feet above sea level and only a half hour from Front Range Airport, is one of America's best cities to live, work and play. The collection of museums, zoos, gardens, clubs, an aquarium and restaurants are endless! Denver also has the nation's second largest performing arts center with a performing arts complex that has eight theaters and is capable of seating over 9,000 people. White water rafting on the Arkansas River (North America s most popular river) is nothing short of an amazing rafting experience. Starting off in a crisp Colorado high alpine setting, whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River runs parallel to the Continental Divide winding its way through a mountainous landscape that contains the highest concentration of 14,000-foot peaks in the lower 48. With over 100 miles of navigable Colorado whitewater, Arkansas River rafting eventually ends up flowing through the awe inspiring Royal Gorge and under the world s tallest suspension bridge.

3 Adams County Government Adams County Government has begun a transformation moving from good to great with a change in culture and additions to management. By 2015, the County Commission will increase by 2 commissioners. This will move the representation and governance from 3 to 5 commissioners. The County has also transitioned to a County Manager form of government with a newer county manager and a renewed business management approach. Part of that new vision includes the following: Mission: To responsibly serve the Adams County community with integrity and innovation Vision: To provide our community a safe, healthy environment to work, raise families and build businesses The Airport Front Range Airport The Front Range Airport in eastern Adams County, Colorado is an ideal example of an airport positioned and ready for takeoff. It was built in 1984 with the vision of driving the economy in eastern Adams County by supplying an increase in air cargo and general aviation business. Because growth of an airport is so frequently driven by population and business trends in proximity to the facility, the potential for growth of Front Range Airport is now reaching its prime. The airport has recently transitioned from an independent authority to county management. This change has allowed the airport to share in County services allowing greater efficiency and an expected cost savings to the airport operating fund. With a focus on general aviation, corporate traffic and industrial development, the airport has great infrastructure in place to meet its needs. The airport has two perpendicular 8,000 foot runways, published runway weight limits of 40,000 (Runway 8/26) and 75,000 pounds DWG (although Runway 17/35 was actually constructed for 160,000 pounds DWG providing good potential for air cargo development), three full precision instrument landing systems(ils) and ramps on the east side and west side of the airport. It boasts having the tallest general aviation tower in the United States which is staffed by controllers under contract with the FAA.

4 The airport owns and controls just under 4,000 acres of land. That property is surrounded by a 6,000 acre, non-residential, master planned industrial complex. The area has easy access to I-70, Denver International Airport and the remainder of the Denver metropolitan area; all of which underscore the superior development potential of Adams County's Front Range Airport. The airport owns and operates a waste water treatment plant and the full service FBO providing fuel and aircraft turn around services. Other businesses on the airport include Part 43 repair shops, aircraft detailing, flight training, hangar rentals and sales, a restaurant/catering services among others. The Position Airport Director The Front Range Airport is seeking a dynamic airport director with extensive airport management, leadership, strategic planning, marketing, economic development and project planning experience. This position requires experience in economic development, strategic planning, financial management with large budgets and strong tenant relations skills. The airport director will develop goals, objectives and metrics aligned with the County mission and policy; direct all airport functions including safety, security, operations, maintenance, planning and development, fiscal governance, business development and promote and direct public relations to include community, military, business civic/school organizations and the media; and develop a plan to diversify revenue sources. First Year Expectations With a mindset to transition to a business enterprise, the airport director will need to evaluate and develop a plan to transition the airport to a self-sustaining operation. As part of this movement, the successful candidate will need to review the current operation, develop a 5-10 year strategic plan incorporating capital improvement planning, begin the process for a new master plan, work closely with the economic development manager to develop and execute a strategic marketing plan, and develop and implement a tenant relations program. Minimum Education & Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor s degree in airport management, business or public administration, business management or a related field. A Master s Degree in business, airport management, public administration or a related field is preferred. At least 7 years of highly responsible experience in airport management and/or airport operations, 5 years of which shall be in a management capacity. Of the 5 years in a management capacity, being a Certified Member (C.M.) of the AAAE shall count towards 2 years of management experience. Possession of an A.A.E. and/or pilot s license are desirable but not required. Experience in economic development, large budgets, financial management, and long-range planning are a plus. The Ideal Candidate The ideal change agent will be an independent self-starter able to quickly learn and use knowledge of Adams County operational policies and procedures to develop a vision to transition the airport to a business-focused and self-sustaining enterprise. He or she will have extensive knowledge of airport operations, strategic planning, economic development, fiscal management and a proven track record of tenant relations. A solid understanding of the principles, practices, procedures and philosophies of airport business administration along with knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations governing airport and personnel management is absolutely necessarily. This candidate will be a politically astute communicator, both orally and in writing with great interpersonal skills. The perfect candidate will be a seasoned leader with excellent time management, goal setting, execution and interpersonal skills.

5 Compensation The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000. The final hiring salary is commensurate with experience. A reimbursable relocation stipend is provided and dependent on the moving location. Additionally, this position will receive a vehicle allowance of $600 monthly as well as a technology allowance of $150 monthly.
