Webb Municipal Office Building Denver, CO (720) INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF: Senior Manager of Capital and Budget Strategy - Denver International Airport An Equal Opportunity Employer SALARY $78, $125, Annually OPENING DATE: 12/XX/12 CLOSING DATE: 01/XX/13 THE POSITION Denver International Airport has an opening for a Senior Manager of Capital and Budget Strategy in DIA s Financial Planning & Analysis Group. We are seeking a strategic thinking, selfstarter with a strong financial orientation to effectively (1) develop, drive and implement DIA s unified approach to capital planning and operating budget development which aligns all financial resources with the strategic plan, (2) guide analyses and push organizational change with significant revenue and non-revenue implications for DIA s strategy, priorities and stakeholders and (3) build and manage the new unit s strategy, budget and personnel. The position will have two direct reports each with different portfolios: Capital Planning Manager o Three direct reports two Capital Planning Senior Analysts and one Grants Management Specialist o Leads development and management of DIA s capital plan, which exceeds $1B for the planning horizon o Sources and manages FAA and other grant funding, an increasingly important revenue source for DIA Operational Resource Planning Manager o o Two direct reports two Operational Resource Planning Senior Analysts Leads development and management of DIA s annual operating budget, which exceeds $800M for FY13 This position will work with numerous stakeholders to develop recommendations for top level management. Denver International Airport is the 11th-busiest airport in the world, and the fifth-busiest airport in the United States. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Lead FP&A s Capital and Budget Strategy Group, including aligning financial resources with organizational goals in a significant departure from previous approach Act as a primary DIA change agent and continuous improvement champion with the ability to lead through influence as a critical success factor Manage and direct personnel, guiding and forming a key FP&A unit Develop DIA s capital and operating budgeting methodology, build robust management reporting and forecasting capabilities and create DIA s budget submission to the Mayor, City Council, Airlines and other stakeholders Provide key advice to the Director of FP&A as well as broader airport personnel on capital planning and operational resource planning related issues and subjects Drive new system implementation, customization, and continuous improvement for DIA s capital planning and operational resource planning needs will involve a constantly evolving robust training regimen clearly communicating the direct relationship between DIA s strategic and financial plans with resource allocations and limitations Act as key steward of DIA s financial resources who will need to defend decisions and recommendations as well as leverage analysis to persuade management and subordinates on key decisions Help lead due diligence and debt administration duties, including leading some disclosure, capital planning and other similar activities Monitor and assess DIA s performance and forecasted performance relative to plan with particular focus towards proactively identifying issues requiring corrective action and recommending solutions to DIA management Other duties and analyses as assigned key responsibility as FP&A utilizes cross functional skills and talents to meet DIA s changing needs QUALIFICATIONS Education Requirement: Baccalaureate Degree in Business, Economics, Math, Engineering or a related field Experience Requirement: Minimum five years of professional experience in financial analysis, financial planning, including financial modeling, strategic finance, economic/statistical analysis or finance related fields, such as accounting

3 Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of the appropriate type and level of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration Experience managing teams and implementing change Experience performing analysis of a strategic, financial, operational nature and formulating approaches to address identified issues Experience developing proposals and recommendations based on research and analysis for new, revised and/or improved work process, policies, procedures, and/or methods Experience discussing study findings with upper management, including forecasting effects and/or implications for proposed recommendations Experience directing the implementation of approved recommendations and developing policies and procedures to facilitate recommended changes ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FBI Criminal Background Check required: an FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at DIA.
