3 SAIT Mobile Printing Service Below is a guide to configure your Apple or Android mobile devices to send print jobs to SAIT mobile enabled printers. This document is intended as a general guide. The specific steps described below may not match the steps required for your device. Please consult your device s documentation for further instructions to print to mobile enabled printers. SAIT mobile enabled printers do not provide a secure way to release print jobs. Print jobs sent to those mobile enabled printers will be released immediately. Print jobs may be sent to SAIT mobile enabled printers from Apple or Android mobile devices using either a browser or an app for the said device. 4 1.0 Printing Using Apple Devices 1.1 Using a Browser to Print Photos or Webpages The requirement to print to SAIT mobile enabled printers using this method are below. An internet connection A browser SAIT computer network username and password Below is a step by step guide to send print jobs to SAIT mobile enabled printers. 1. Open the browser 2. Go to the following URL: 3. Click on Print 4. Log in with your network username and password and click on LOG IN 5. Click on the printer you want send your print job to. 5 6. For photo printing, follow steps below. For web page printing, go to next step. a. Choose a file or Browse or something similar b. Choose to take a photo, select from an existing photo folder or video c. Go to step 8 7. For webpage printing, follow steps below SAIT Mobile Printing Service How to Print Guide Page 4

6 a. Type in or copy/paste the URL of the page to be printed b. Go to next step 8. Choose the number of copies and the page range to be printed 9. Choose CONTINUE 10. 7 12. Click on Submit Job to Printer 1.2 Printing Using an APP Configuration 1. Download & install the PrinterOn app from the Apple Store 2. Open the PrinterOn App a. go to Settings b. enter your SAIT computer network username and password such as below: i. username/address test ii. Password Test12345! c. Make sure: Use in requests is set to On 3. Search and save SAIT mobile enabled printers a. Open the Search type in SAIT b. Tap on the printer you want to save c. 10 2. Choose Open In Select PrinterOn 3. Two options available. Go to a) if you have SAIT mobile enabled printers added. Go to b) if you need to search for a SAIT mobile enabled printer a. Select My Printer Tap on the printer you want to print to Print b. 11 1.2.4 Printing Pictures Printing Pictures From ipods/iphones 1. Open the PrinterOn App on your Apple Mobile device 2. Select Print 3. Select Photos (or something similar) 4. Tap on the picture you want to print 5. Tap Select 6. Choose Save PrintSpots 7. Choose the printer you want to send the print job to 8. Tap Select 9. Tap Print (located at the top right hand corner of your screen) Printing Pictures From ipads 1. Open the PrinterOn App on your Apple Mobile device 2. Select Cameral Roll (or something similar) 3. Choose Photo Library if you have an ipad 4. Tap on the picture you want to print 5. Tap Select 6. Choose My Printer 7. Choose the printer you want to send the print job to 8. 12 1.3 Printing Messages Below is a guide on how to print an message 1. Open the message to be printed. 2. Forward that message to the print queue you would like to print to. SAIT currently have the following mobile enabled printers: a. Staff: i. is.g208 is.g208@sait.ca ii. alumni.ma306 alumni.ma306@sait.ca iii. exec.ma323b exec.ma323b@sait.ca iv. marketing.nn1113 marketing.nn1113@sait.ca b. Students: i. ttc.ca200 ttc.ca200@sait.ca Note: Student print requests will be reduced from their pcounter account allotment. 3. You will receive an from Mobile Print with instructions to approve the print job. 4. Open the and click on the link. 5. Click Authenticate 6. 17 2.2 Printing Using an APP Configuration 1. Download the app from the Play store for your device (phone or tablet) and install the PrinterOn app. 2. Open the app a. Select Settings b. Click Add c. Type in your SAIT network account (i.e. dsmith) and your password (i.e. Password12345) d. Select use as default e. Select save 3. Search and save SAIT mobile enabled printers a. With the app open, select Manage Printers b. Select Search c. Type in SAIT d. Select go e. A list of SAIT mobile enabled printer is displayed f. Select the SAIT mobile enabled printer you want g. Select save this will save the printer to your list of printer that you will want to print to Printing Attachments 1. Open the 2. Save the attachment 3. View the attachment 4. Click on the menu (three squares stacked vertical) choose send 5. Select PrinterOn 6. Select the printer you want to print to located in Saved PrintSpots 7. Select Print Printing Photos 1. 19 2.2.4 Printing Webpages 1. Open the PrinterOn app 2. Tap on Web enter the URL you want to print tap on Print 3. Tap on My Printer select the printer you want to send the print job to 4. Tap Print Printing Files 1. Open the PrinterOn app 2. Select Explorer 3. Select the file you want to print tap on My Printer 4.
