The project will use a 'blended learning' approach, offering interactive on-line modules and traditional 'paper-based' materials, focusing on the needs of SMEs. The polymer industry is one of the most imporant sectors in the EU with a value of 250 billion and applications in a vast number of industries. The sector is dominated by SMEs who are coming under increasing pressure from low wage economies, incresed legislation and a rise in the price of energy and materials. Description: Thèmes: Sectors: Types de Produit: Information sur le produit: Page Web du projet: REACH places an onerous burden on companies in the polymer industry, partcularly SMEs where resources in terms of staff, skills and time are often limited and with the status of polymers up for review it is vital that the industry is aware of the requirements and implications of REACH as to negate any detrimental business impact and as to shorten implementation times and reduce costs. Prior to the Polymer REACH project, there were no elearning solutions that encompassed REACH and all aspects of the polymer industry. The Handbook will be targeted at the European polymer industry and made available both electronically to download from the project website and in hard copy. Description: The Handbook will be used to support the elearning course through 'blended learning' but also used as a stand alone publication for users wanting to increase their knowledge on REACH. The modules are available in seven European languages including English. Description: The content for Polymer REACH and supporting materials will be translated into the project languages (English, French, German, Itlaian, Romanian, Estonian, Portuguese and Lithuanian). The content will be integrated into the elearning platform and handbook. Cible: SMEs and other stakeholders in the polymer processing industry Résultat: A collection of training modules which cover all aspects of REACH legislation and compliance aimed specifically at the polymer industry. Domaine d'application: Online and distance learning which is available for free when users register on the Polymer REACH website. The printed Handbook may be used in both conjunction with the online courses or either can be as a stand-alone training aid.
