2 Target Audience Physicians, nurses and other allied health care professionals who are responsible for the provision of trauma care. Only registered attendees will be permitted in the conference area. Registration The cost to register is $85 for all attendees. Please include payment with your completed registration card. Credit Information Physicians This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and the Delaware Trauma Consortium. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to: n Recognize key findings in obtaining an injury history or conducting a pediatric orthopedic physical. n Recognize the importance of prehospital treatment of extracavitary hemorrhage n Illustrate the impact of a collaborating State Trauma System on patient care. n Illustrate treatment protocols and system operations through case reviews evaluating patient care, trauma decision making and destination selection. n Describe ABA (American Burn Association) criteria with appropriate transfer procedures to a Burn Center. n Identify risk factors for screening of blunt carotid and vertebral injury in the setting of trauma. n Recognize the Trauma Quality Improvement Program of the American College of Surgeons Best Practices in Massive Transfusion Guidelines. n Describe the epidemiology of street drugs in the United States of America. n Recognize how fear from a traumatic event impacts the patient and family.
