2 ABOUT THE CONFERENCE This conference will enable participants to increase knowledge necessary to improve clinical practice in caring for patients with STEMI and cardiac arrest and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Topics include the evolution of infarct angioplasty, ethical challenges with termination of care in the field or hospital, operationalizing thrombolytic therapy guidelines, preserving left ventricular function, the impact of therapeutic hypothermia on clinical practice, and improving the quality of in-hospital cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. Additionally, participants will explore the patient and family s experience following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest through a survivor s success story. TARGET AUDIENCE Physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses emergency and critical care, and emergency medical services. Other interested health care professional seeking to improve outcomes for STEMI and cardiac arrest patients are welcome to attend.
