3 Introduction Dear Business Friend, Neighbor and Supporter of Blaine School: As you know, the State of Illinois is faced with critical financial issues, and it will take some time to straighten out the problems. Subsequently, funding for Chicago Public Schools has been affected, and the bottom line is this: in order to maintain the level of excellence which Blaine Elementary School has achieved, we must reach out to local businesses and ask for your continued financial support. However, we are believers in the old adage, one hand washes the other. With that in mind, we are pleased to offer our Friends of Blaine Business Donor Program, and the Friends of Blaine Business Contributor Program to allow your business to support the children of Blaine School and the Southport neighborhood. Blaine School is a Fine Arts Magnet and World Language (Spanish) center Blaine currently is home to diverse enrollment of approximately 920 pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students Friends of Blaine funds enrichment activities and programming that benefit all Blaine kids. During , Friends of Blaine hopes to raise over $250,000 to continue funding of some of our students' favorite programs, such as Science on the Go and Lookingglass Theater, among others Here's a look at what grants were provided to Blaine during : o Promethean Boards (computer generated interactive classroom whiteboards): $98,442 o Science on the Go: $23,750 o Joffrey Ballet Program: $15,600 o Lookingglass Theatre: $5,300 o Wilson Reading Program: $1,870 o Science Teacher ( ): $83,000

8 Friends of Blaine Business Contributor Program This program allows businesses an opportunity to help Blaine school and the community by giving back a share of their sales revenue on a specific day, week, month or quarter. Here s how it works. Investment/Donation: 15% of Gross Sales Revenue for Either One Day, One Week, One Month, or One Quarter Friends of Blaine Deliverables: Listing of your Friends of Blaine Contributor Program offering in Friends of Blaine Upcoming Events Calendar, which will be ed to approx. 9 Conclusion Individually as parents, we are giving what we can financially so that our children can continue to receive quality education here in Chicago through the public school system.
