Our objectives are to advance technological development, governance and competence within the fields of water, environment and health. 3 Assisting the industry Environmental assessment of chemicals and products Documentation is of great value when implementing cleaner technologies, not least during the development and marketing phase. DHI provides: Assessment of chemicals in waters, sludge and soil Documentation of industry specific requirements Risk characterisation of chemicals in relation to product development Ecolabelling of chemical products Ecotoxicological laboratory tests. DHI is engaged in the development and implementation of the new EU chemicals legislation such as REACH, biocides and pesticides. Technology development, testing and verification A solid understanding of the involved mechanisms is imperative for the development and demonstration of new ecoefficient treatment technologies. Water, wastewater and solid waste treatment Sufficient water of good quality is a key issue when optimising the production processes. Conception DHI can create virtual production facilities to evaluate and optimise energy, materials and water use before construction. Establishing production facilities DHI will help you assess the potential impact of your product, prepare your applications and negotiate with the authorities. Operation and maintenance Operation and maintenance Mapping and monitoring of processes and technologies may uncover potentials not yet realised. Documentation of health impact is a valuable tool. Using new test methods DHI conducts chemical safety assessments, which do not involve animal testing.
