3 Indoor Rentals Situated along the Principal Riverwalk, just north of downtown Des Moines, the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden is a beautiful gathering place for you and your guests. Whether you are getting married, hosting a reception, planning a celebration or looking for a unique space to hold your next meeting, the Botanical Garden will cater to your needs and help you create indelible experiences. Outdoor Rentals The seven acres of outdoor gardens opened in the spring of 2015 and provide a magnificent setting for evening celebrations throughout the spring, summer and fall months in Iowa (available for rentals May 1 through October 31). Stroll among glorious formal garden spaces, enjoy stunning views of downtown from many vantage points or simply enjoy cocktails on the boardwalk on a warm summer evening the Garden awaits you and your guests. Conservatory 7 9:30 a.m. DuPont Room 7 a.m. Midnight Trellis Café, Meredith Café Terrace and Boardwalk Signature Outdoor Gardens* Our tropical oasis serves as a perfect backdrop for special occasions. Your guests can explore the geodesic-domed conservatory and the tropical plants year-round which are especially enticing during Iowa winters. Flexible seating and gathering options are available. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the stunning outdoor gardens, the DuPont room offers sweeping views of the garden in all seasons. These spaces are suited to your larger gatherings and can be set up in numerous layouts to fit your occasion. DuPont East: guests DuPont West: guests East/West combined: guests During the warmer months, Trellis Café, Meredith Café Terrace and boardwalk offer picturesque settings for small and medium sized gatherings. Enjoy an elegant indoor/ outdoor evening experience overlooking the lush water garden that is truly unique in Des Moines. Trellis (including outdoor spaces): guests Our signature outdoor gardens create a breathtaking open-air room for you and your guests to explore and enjoy. The backdrop of the hillside waterfall and the one of a kind views of the downtown Des Moines skyline create a lasting impression. For your evening events, the Botanical Garden is a gorgeous setting designed to impress. Conservatory: guests Outdoor gardens: guests Walsh and Swartz Rooms 7 a.m. Midnight Combined, these two meeting rooms have the space and accessibility you need to hold a successful event. The Walsh Room overlooks the bonsai gallery with floor-to-ceiling windows. Both rooms have flexible setup options. Your guests will enjoy the view of the water garden and savanna, year-round. Ceremony in the Conservatory: A ceremony in the conservatory accommodates up to 220 guests, with up to 40 chairs on the main floor and 35 chairs on the balcony. There is ample standing room throughout the conservatory. Reception in the Conservatory: The conservatory is a beautiful setting for mingling, cocktails and hors d oeuvres for up to 220 guests. Walk-In Wedding Our walk-in weddings are a perfect fit for up to 20 guests (standing room only) for a 15-minute ceremony at the Botanical Garden.
