Our new room is perfect for parties and receptions -- it s open and airy and filled with walls of French doors on two sides. It can hold 72 comfortably, with possible options for more if you add seating on our stage or in the adjacent hallway. To keep everything well organized and to give you the most accurate information, please consider me your single point of contact here at the winery for all private functions. I am happy to answer any questions you might have and/or schedule an appointment for you to view the room and discuss your upcoming event. 2 Sandhill Crane Vineyards Facility Rental Information Thank you for considering Sandhill Crane Vineyards for your next private party or corporate event. Our new beautiful small banquet room and adjoining deck is a lovely venue for showers, wedding receptions, retirement (and other) parties, fundraisers, and corporate events. Please note that rates are subject to change in the future. Small Banquet Room Rental Our new small banquet room is available for groups of 20 or more. The new room seats a maximum of 72 people (8 per 9 round tables). In addition, we can accomodate several tables on the stage and one or two tables in the entrance to the room. If you prefer a grazing cocktail-style party (stand up), we can accommodate up to 150 people. Groups smaller than 20 are subject to food and beverage minimums. Rental rates are based on a two-hour minimum. Facility Rental rates: Rental is charged for any function outside normal winery hours or if you wish to reserve the entire banquet room during regular winery hours. If your party occurs during normal winery hours and you do not need to reserve the entire room, there is no charge. If you have a group of 24 or more, you will automatically use the entire room and room charges apply no matter what time of day. Facility rental is not charged during the time you decorate for your event. For weddings and receptions, rental begins 1 hour before your event begins. That way we re ready to serve your early guests (because at every wedding some guests will arrive very early). 3 Sandhill Crane Vineyards - Facility Rental Information, page 2 Booking Your Date Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us for specific date availability. A 50% deposit (approximate food costs, room rental, plus any other costs) is required to book your date. For weddings, a damage/cleaning deposit of $250 is also required at that time. The balance is due at your event. In the event a rental party must cancel their date, we require a 5-day notice to return your deposit (less 20% cancellation fee). Cancellations made less than 5 days in advance of the event date are non-refundable. A final count is due 72 hours in advance of your event. You will be charged for this count. If you need to add to the count after that time, you must contact the winery to find out if it is a possibility. Menus & Food The menus at Sandhill Crane Vineyards are written to take advantage of as many local suppliers as possible. All food is prepared fresh on the premises. Our menus are made up of wine-friendly foods and all menus (except breakfast) include free wine tasting for your guests. For a special meal that features our wines and freshly prepared, locally sourced foods, we highly recommend our Small Plates menu. The four- or five-course Small Plates menu pairs each course with one of our wines. It s the perfect way to learn more about food & wine pairing, and to taste our wines in the best possible setting. This particular menu is best suited for groups of 48 or fewer. Sandhill Crane Vineyards provides all food and beverage for your event. However, wedding cakes (made in a commercial kitchen) are permissible. This must be arranged with us in advance of your event. Because of food safety and regulation issues, no buffet food will be taken away from the premises after an event. We are happy to accommodate special diets (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc) with advanced notice. Family-style service is available at an additional charge of $5 per person. Wine Our wine is the core of our operation. All menus are developed to highlight the award-winning wines made here at the winery. As a holder of a Small Winemaker s License through the MLCC and TTB, it is illegal to have any other alcohol on the premises. Your group may not bring any other alcoholic beverages on the premises. There are no exceptions to this rule. Any outside alcohol will be confiscated. Multiple incidents at a single event will result in loss of your damage deposit. We also hold a Micro Brewer license and are happy to produce beer to order for your special event. Please see our Beer Price List for more information. Each menu (except breakfast) includes a tastings for your guests. We offer two styles of tastings: formal and informal. For formal tastings, we make up a tasting menu for your group and each wine is served (in order of dry to sweet) to all your guests at the same time. We can do this quietly (during presentations or other programs) or talk to your guests about each wine as we pour it. Most parties prefer to do informal tastings. For informal tastings, we will set up our bar with a full selection of our wines and your guests come up to the bar and request tastings. If you would like to purchase additional bottles of wine for consumption by your guests, we will add it to your bill. We are happy to recork any opened bottles that are not fully consumed so you can take them home with you. We ask that you determine in advance how to handle requests from your guests for full glasses or bottles of wine. We can handle it one of four ways: 1) just offer tastings and not offer

4 Sandhill Crane Vineyards - Facility Rental Information, page 3 larger quantities, 2) offer an open bar (you will be billed for any glasses or bottles ordered during the event), 3) offer a limited open bar (you select the wines that will be offered ahead of time and we only bill you for the bottles that get opened) or 4) offer a cash bar (if your guests wish to order glasses or bottles we will charge them for it). If you decide to offer an open bar but would like to put a limit on the amount spent or the specific wines available, we are happy to honor that request. If you would like us to do a presentation on wines during your event, we are happy to do so at no charge. Based on your needs, this might include: talking about each wine as we pour it, talking about Sandhill Crane Vineyards and generally about Michigan wines, a discussion on food & wine pairing, and/or Winetasting 101 (how to taste wine, etc). If you would like to include wine glasses as favors for your group, we offer them to private parties at a special price of $2.50 each. Please note: It is illegal to serve intoxicated persons (regardless of whether they are driving or not). Anyone visibly intoxicated will not be served. Cellar Operations Tour We are happy to provide a tour of our wine cellar operations for you and your guests at no additional charge. Tours must be arranged at least 3 days prior to your event. Weddings Our vineyards and new banquet room are beautiful locations for your winery wedding. If you would like an outdoor wedding, we can accommodate approximately 85 seated people in the meadow between the east vineyards and the apple orchard. You are also welcome to get married amongst the grapevines with your friends and family gathered around you. This setting works best if the guests stand around you in between the rows. We are also happy to host your wedding indoors in our new small banquet room. If you would like an outdoor wedding and would like to rent our large tent, prices are below. Due to space and scheduling constraints, we are unable to accommodate weddings only (without a reception here as well). Wedding prices: Facility fee - $150 Tent rental (seats approx. 75) - $350 We do not have chairs available but can recommend several local rental agencies. It is our understanding that they charge $1/chair, which includes delivery and pickup. It is up to the wedding party to set up the chairs how they wish for them to be arranged. Please note: this is a working farm so we are unable to guarantee the look of the vineyards on a specific date. Parking We can accommodate approximately cars parked at the winery location. If you require more parking, the parking lot at the East Jackson Middle School is available with advanced notice and approval by the East Jackson Schools. The lot is approximately 1/4 mile south of the winery on Walz Road. You must provide shuttle service for your guests to and from the EJMS parking lot. We are

SCV requests that you make a minimum donation to the schools of $50 for use of their parking lot. If your event takes place during normal winery hours and you expect more than 15 cars, we ask that you make arrangements for your guests to park at the middle school lot so we can save some spaces for our regular guests. Decorations You are welcome to decorate the small banquet room with your own decorations. They might include colored table linens, flowers, fairy lights, chair covers, etc. If you wish to decorate the room, please let us know prior to your event and we will arrange for a specific time for the room to be available to you. If you wish more elaborate decorations that will require room repair, please contact us for a price quote. Use of the Stage You are welcome to use the stage inside the small banquet room during your event. Uses might include additional seating, live music, a DJ, silent auction location (for fundraisers), corporate presentations, wedding ceremonies, etc. Because of the acoustics in the room, very minimal sound systems are needed. Gratuity We will add an 18% gratuity to your food & beverage bill in addition to 6% Michigan sales tax. Damage You are liable for any damage done to the premises during your private function. Sandhill Crane Vineyards is not liable for loss or damage of any personal property. Children A winery is not a particularly suitable place for children, but we strive to give Sandhill Crane Vineyards a family-friendly atmosphere. Children are certainly permitted (if you wish to invite them). Children under 3 are free, ages 3 to 9 are half-price, and 10 and over are full price. All our meals (except breakfast/brunch) include lemonade as a non-alcoholic beverage alternative. We are happy to work with you to arrange a special kid-friendly meal. Non-Profit Organizations We welcome your non-profit organization for fundraisers and other events. Please contact Heather Price at for information on non-profit rates. For any public events (fundraisers, open houses, presentations, etc), we require editorial approval for all printed materials regarding the event. This includes press releases and media announcements, invitations, etc. Prior to publication, all written materials must be submitted to the winery for approval.
