Harnessing data through Equipment Health Management (EHM) allows us to monitor the condition of our equipment in operation. Powered by the data analytics technology mastered in our aerospace business, EHM offerings enable informed decisions about vessel and rig operations and maintenance. These decisions in turn lead to improved availability, minimise unexpected downtime and extend maintenance intervals for our customers The move into integrated connective solutions, alongside condition based maintenance agreements, will improve life-cycle efficiency and cost predictability. This will support reliable performance where our customers need it most. Our vision is the seamless integration of EHM with vessel and offshore rig equipment with communication infrastructure both onboard and onshore. The data we collect will empower connected decision making. Regular reports providing actionable information will allow us to record and compare vessel data and performance, thereby unlocking value from monitoring the equipment. Supported by secure platforms and proven experience, Rolls-Royce will offer robust and powerful back-office data analysis and tools to turn operational data into tangible benefits for our customers. 4 Ship ıntelligence Optimisation and decision support We are turning information into insight to deliver through-life asset optimisation. Energy Management (EM) enables the analysis and reporting of vessel fuel consumption across operating modes, putting information at your fingertips. The real time advisory function will open up possibilities to enhance operational performance and enable fuel savings. Alongside our suite of world-class intelligent capabilities, optimisation and decision support is underpinned by technology that will ensure environmental regulation compliance and enable enhanced navigation and positioning. Our original equipment manufacturer (OEM) knowledge can provide recommendations, support and feedback to customers as well as the potential to enhance vessel value. Ship operations will benefit from integrated bridge concepts, optimisation and energy systems to help our customers drive sustainable growth, streamline operations and run higher performing equipment. We will utilise onboard performance data in combination with our external data and expertise to optimise operation, with OEM knowledge to support performance available through onboard systems. Remote and autonomous operations We are pushing the boundaries of ship technology in order to offer innovative commercial and technical solutions. Advances in digital technology are driving the development of our remote capabilities. Offerings such as remote access, enabled by onshore remote operation and control centres, are already providing our customers with superior real-time connectivity that make these solutions a reality. Rolls-Royce is building on the proven automation, control and simulation technologies, coupled with secure data handling and user experience expertise, to offer increasing degrees of remote and autonomous solutions for our customers. Safety is at the heart of all of these offerings. Our solutions in ship intelligence will deliver multifaceted enhancements in vessel performance and operation for our customers. In the shorter term, we are supporting our customers to automate operations and navigation, allowing crew to concentrate on more valuable tasks. The increased level of safety onboard will be provided by additional systems. Our future solutions will reduce need for human-machine interaction by automating selected tasks and processes, whilst keeping the human at the centre of critical decision making and onboard expertise. In the longer term, our efforts in remote and autonomous operations will pave the way to autonomous ships.
