2 Backgrounds Three years ago the question about feasibility of the electric buses was asked by Veolia Transdev Statement: Battery prices were getting lower First real attempts to make a full size electric busses were recognized Questions: Could these really work in real life? How about the economical aspects, could these win on competition?

5 The Change After three years: It s not question anymore whether the electric buses are feasible or not - They will come City buses are sweet spot application for vehicle electrification The new question is: How to optimize the electric bus system and handle the transition to electric bus systems

18 Summary Linkker is spin-off from ebus Tekes -project and it s main task is to integrate Finnish competences on electric buses and bring competitive products to markets Optimized electric bus systems can offer better service quality, lower emissions and lower costs at the same time Markets of electric buses are shaping faster than realized before - city buses are sweet spot for electrification Bus production in Finland is under preparation References are highly critical success factors and may define size of the business for related Finnish companies
